Local arboretum reshaped its Spring sale so that you’d get an email with the available plantsa week before the sale. On the3rd and 4th of April you’d call in with your picks, give them your credit cad number and then on Saturday drive by and they’d put them into your car/truck.
State decided the plant sale wasn’t a necessary activity so it told them to cancel it. Oh well, guess instead I’ll go to Walmart and buy a toy, a video game, some arts and craft stuff or deer corn.

I’m with you czar. If people can’t do things like that, where risk is minimal and payoff is them having something to keep them occupied then they are going to be a lot more likely to make a trip to Walmart, or even the grocery store.

It’s taking things to an extreme, no one has to touch anyone and the plants can be loaded right into your truck or car. But, whatever…

Why the USS Roosevelt’s Captain Had To Be Relieved
Editorial of The New York Sun | April 2, 2020
The decision of American Navy to relieve the captain who warned publicly of coronavirus on his nuclear-powered aircraft carrier strikes us as the right move. We get that it’s a sad setback for an officer in an incredible command. The minute we read the captain’s letter about the crisis on United States Ship Theodore Roosevelt, though, we saw it as a breach on a matter that should have been kept within the chain of command.

I’ve always wanted to visit Venice. It is one of the handful of cities I’d love to go see. Jerusalem, Dublin, Rome. I’m stuck now, I think that’s all. Then off to see the wild places.
I try to keep it secret that I’d hit Venice before Rome and the Vatican. I would love to visit that little island near Venice where they blow the glass. I can’t think of it right now, but I sure would love to go buy some beautiful things there.

I am lucky to have a couple of pieces of Venetian glass that I received as gifts. One is a modernistic statuette of a kneeling woman with an Asian conical hat. The woman is clear glass and the hat is black. The other piece is a Murano millefiori decanter with a stopper.

I’m another lucky owner stella….My husband was a collector of Venetian glassware and his special interest was collecting early pieces produced by “Murano.” Amazingly beautiful stuff….:0)

I also have a round millefiori glass pendant from Venice. Not an expensive piece, but very pretty!

I don’t have any jewelry pieces but I have an early hand hammered silver box that is about two inches long and one inch high and the lid is covered in millefiori. A ‘bauble’ made for the aristocracy. So tiny, but oh so pretty.

Don’t miss Florence and the other cities in that region. My daughter says that the town of Siena was her favorite. Like most Italian cities, there is a beautiful cathedral there.

You post the most heart lifting, beautiful pictures, Stella. Thank for sharing all that beauty in this time of difficulty for so many of us. ❤️ God bless you and all America’s patriots and Deplorables. 🙏🏼🇺🇸 And our magnificent President and his team. Soul Icon Bill Withers Known For Hits “Lovely Day” And “Lean On Me” Dies At 81
Bill Withers, whose songs like “Lean On Me,” “Just The Two of Us,” and “Lovely Day” are staples in soul music and beyond, has died from heart complications, his family told The Associated Press on Friday (April 3). He was 81.
In the statement, his family praised the legendary singer-songwriter for his work and dedication to his loved ones. “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved, devoted husband and father. A solitary man with a heart-driven to connect to the world at large, with his poetry and music, he spoke honestly to people and connected them to each other,” the family statement read. “As private a life as he lived close to intimate family and friends, his music forever belongs to the world. In this difficult time, we pray his music offers comfort and entertainment as fans hold tight to loved ones.”

I was just thinking about my favorite YouTube channels and how many of the proprietors depend upon this income to cover daily expenses. How about we visit various channels and give their vids full views and thumbs up to help during this economic downturn. And get a bit of education and/or pleasure out of it in the bargain.

Venezuelan navy launches attack on tourist cruise ship, cruise ship wins

I have a little story to tell. I am not sure what group it belongs in: a little sad, a little happy, a little defiant “I’m an American and don’t tell me what to do.”
My friend got a call from her friend of at least 20 years wanting her to go to the SPCA with her to get a cat. Her friend has cancer. Every time she goes in, they find more cancer in more places. It is sad. She lives alone and her only daughter is somewhere out west. Anyway, she was really sad when her cat died a few years ago and she finally decided to get another one. So, my friend got in her car and drove here to go with her, as she said, even though she wasn’t supposed to. Anyway, the other friend was sooooo happy when she got this really precious, darling, kitten. It really perked her up. She has few friends and I am sure was especially lonely.
My friend said she knew she wasn’t supposed to go, but nothing was going to stop her from helping this friend. I support her totally.

I support her too. It was a kind thing that your friend did. Each one of us must decide what we will do.

She is a very caring person. She said she was afraid I was going to fuss at her for doing this because I am always telling her she needs to worry more about herself and less about her friends.
