7) A photo I took at my mum’s lake a few weeks ago. It was 50 degrees with a light wind, the ice on the lake was 8 inches thick, the sun was brilliant, whisky cloud, the warm temperature was melting the top layer of ice which made it all look surreal.

We flew to Germany in November on one of those DC-4s (military version with fewer appointments) and it was less than comfortable. By the time we came back the DoD had sprung for a 707.

Love that picture! I always enjoy the lake pictures you post. We had a pair of geese stop for a rest at the pond for part of the day this week, then they were off again. I enjoyed the company.

Oh yeah, Spring be sprung. We have leaves on some of the fruit trees that have finished flowering, some of the maples are showing red buds and now our cypress trees are green and fuzzy. Oh yeah, again, the weeds are HERE!

I’ll bet there is a green haze up on our old hill, some buds coming out, but not nearly what you guys have yet. We’ve had several pretty cold days each of the last two weeks.
I’m putting off going to the garden center to try to buy plants. I have no idea what the hell I’m doing. Thinking of just going down there and throwing myself on their mercy. I don’t just want to plant shrubs, I want something pretty.

Look online at some of the reputable nurseries, they usually have a discount for black thumb replacements. I’d suggest edible landscaping, fruit trees look nice and give you a walking around treat.
I’d suggest using your county ag agent, they’re everywhere, free (your tax $$ pay for them) and are frequently lonely as many folks jes don’t know they exist. They’re more than glad to help with any planting problems.

Good news. Got my state tax refund. It mostly consists of a property tax rebate because I am officially an old person. They rebate almost HALF of my property taxes!

In the link to the art critics comments, the urge to lie occurs right up front…good grief, these people don’t deserve an ounce of readership any more than Hunter deserves art patrons…
