    1) Our buddy Todd McMurtry is entering politics. Wish I could vote for him.

    2) The snow and ice that was supposed to wipe out the entirety of South East Wisconsin has not yet arrived. Wind sound beautiful.

(Well maybe there is some ice out there since the salt truck has been by a couple of times since I started writing this list. )

Any which way we are alive.

    6) So many of these people are freely admitting their guilt, it’s almost as if they don’t understand the law.

FBI Director Christopher Wray told the federal surveillance court in a letter Friday that he “deeply regrets” the bureau’s many errors in the process to obtain surveillance warrants on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

“The FBI has the utmost respect for this Court, and deeply regrets the errors and omissions identified by the OIG,” Wray wrote in a letter to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC).”

    7) ‘Markle abandoned her own family. Now she has forced Harry to abandon his. We won’t be sorry to see her go but we would like our money back. Good riddance to her. Leave our Royal Family alone.’__Katie Hopkins

    9) Full moons.

Thanks lovely. The massive rains and dangerous storms, at least for the moment, have not arrived here either. Haven’t checked the weather witches steaming cauldron though. Love the picture of the moon.

I had a visit from a half dozen or so ducks to the pond last night. Sat out back in my shirt sleeves to enjoy them. Nice to be able to do that in almost mid January. Temps are supposed to be mild here for awhile more at least, last time I checked.

Best of all, our new little house is just cozy, AND the first full month’s power bill was less than half what it cost in the cabin, and, even though we both are warm natured and keep the thermostat pretty low, the great room in that cabin was cold all winter, no matter what.

I do miss a fireplace, but I agree with you on candles. I haven’t bothered to set any out and enjoy them in the evenings, but you have inspired me.

      Thanks for the good things!

        Good morning Menagerie,

I just went outside, everything is covered in a thin layer of ice. We’re not supposed to get above 26° today and it is supposed to snow all day but so far no snow. Thankfully I have no place that I need to be today 🙂 !

Nice that the ducks came to visit you, for me there is nothing quite so peaceful as being beside a body of water.

And how nice to be cozy in your home. Let the world spin.

I have candles burning at the moment, there is just something toasty about candle light. Dog is toasted up and snoring.

Oh no Wee, so sorry. I knew your area was supposed to get it bad. I have a cousin who used to live in San Antonio and just moved to east Texas, he says not too far from Louisiana. They were supposed to get it bad last night too, he said.

The rainstorm that’s supposed to cause untold damage and casualties is jes a tad to our east. The dogs have been out, the cats are in and we await our fate.

I am not a dedicated royal watcher but Harry seems to have changed a lot since he married her, and not in a good way. Apparently her Hollywood liberalism is catching.

But as for the allegation she abandoned her family, I don’t agree. Her idiot father did everything he possibly could before and after Markle got married to prove that he was white trash. Her sister was no better, screaming at her on Twitter about family matters that should never have been posted online in the first place.

I am no fan of Megan, but based on her family’s willingness to sell her out for their own five minutes of Fame, abandoning then was the smartest thing she ever did.

Didn’t know the name Maryam Rajavi. Great to discover she’s a leader in the Iranian people’s rebellion against their oppressors…https://www.maryam-rajavi.com/en/ .

The Harry and Yoko photo, how apt! The feel I get from reading articles about Harry and Meghan is that she’s been the controller from the day they met. Now she has an even bigger control…his son. My gosh, these are people in their 30s. Both of them should have grown up years ago.

    Congress Can’t Make War
By Raoul Lowery Contreras – January 11, 2020

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi misinterprets congressional responsibilities about war and peace. In challenging President Donald Trump’s bold order to kill the world’s number one terrorist, Iran’s Qassem Soleimani, Speaker Pelosi misfires on Congress’ foreign policy and military responsibilities.

LOL This sounds like something President Trump might do. From the article:

“The question is not new. President Theodore Roosevelt in 1907 sent the Great White Fleet of 16 U.S. Navy battleships on a worldwide show of U.S. naval strength against the public wishes of some Congressmen. ”

“In one story, Roosevelt told Congress he already had the money and for them “to try and get it back.” In another, “Congress had appropriated only half the funds necessary to finance the cruise. Roosevelt sent the ships anyway, saying that if Congress wanted the Navy back, it could provide the rest of the money.”

      Correct: Congress cannot make war.

This Congress can do anything but make a mess. However, I won’t complain because there doing nothing might be a blessing.

Still in my World War II mode…watched this melodrama last night (it’s in 2 parts to avoid the copyright problems of showing it unaltered)…never read one way or another, but some of the bit parts seem to be amateurs; and perhaps they were men who’d been in the Army Air Force and answered a cattle call (open auditions).

Saw the film years ago and holds up well…Gregory Peck is wonderful, as always…also stars Gary Merrill (one of Better Davis’ husbands and his next major film would be “All About Eve” in 1950 where they met), Dean Jagger (remember him from “White Christmas”?), Hugh Marlowe (was in Eve also)

    “Twelve O’Clock High” (1949) Pt. 1

    Twelve O’Clock High (1949) Pt.2

Good film for your Saturday Night At the Movies.
