   If the US and/or Israel can severely damage the IRG there’s a good chance a large part of the military and the populace would revolt. People forget…or just don’t know…that Khomeini created the IRG to protect the mullahs and the ‘revolution’ from the military. Khomeini wanted a religious zealot group as the army wasn’t all that Islamic and still isn’t. The IRG has, in many cases, better training and equipment than much of the army and first call at funding. They’re some 20,000 strong, have spies in the military and a cadre of spies that spy just on the public. No one except Obama and many of the Democrats in Congress send the Eid al Fitr cards.
