The bend in the road brings back so many wonderful memories. If you take the bend, go down through the coulee, drive another 20 miles, turn at the telephone pole, drive til you go over the cattle guard, slow down for a dozen more curves and enter through the barbed wire gate, you’ll arrive at my childhood home just in time for the New Year.
I was buying groceries the other day and got behind a 50-ish couple who had their cart loaded, and I do mean loaded, with cases of beer, nothing else, just beer. When I caught the eye of the woman I smiled and said “I’m comin’ to your house”…To which she replied..”you’ll have to drive four hours into Canada to do that”
Consumers in rural Alberta are paying 47.00 for one case of beer. For 22.00 here for the same product, they can drive four hours, cross the border twice in one day, buy in bulk & save major $. My DH and I used to make wine runs up into Canada when the reverse was true, so a recognizable bond was made & chit chat ensued…wonderful farm folk from the prairies of Canada.

In our PC world, this does not get discussed. The Center has done a good job, but IMO we really need to roll back the Obama years edicts and declare them failures.

The Defense Department’s attempts to reduce sexual assaults in the military have failed. Annual reports tracking numbers of actual assaults on women and men show that the problem is getting worse every year with no end in sight.
