A shmoo is shaped like a plump bowling pin with stubby legs. It has smooth skin, eyebrows, and sparse whiskers—but no arms, nose, or ears. Its feet are short and round, but dexterous, as the shmoo’s comic book adventures make clear. It has a rich gamut of facial expressions and often expresses love by exuding hearts over its head. Cartoonist Al Capp ascribed to the shmoo the following curious characteristics:
They reproduce asexually and are incredibly prolific, multiplying faster than rabbits. They require no sustenance other than air.
Shmoos are delicious to eat, and are eager to be eaten. If a human looks at one hungrily, it will happily immolate itself—either by jumping into a frying pan, after which they taste like chicken, or into a broiling pan, after which they taste like steak. When roasted they taste like pork, and when baked they taste like catfish. Raw, they taste like oysters on the half-shell.
They also produce eggs (neatly packaged), milk (bottled, grade-A), and butter—no churning required. Their pelts make perfect bootleather or house timbers, depending on how thick one slices them.
They have no bones, so there’s absolutely no waste. Their eyes make the best suspender buttons, and their whiskers make perfect toothpicks. In short, they are simply the perfect ideal of a subsistence agricultural herd animal.
Naturally gentle, they require minimal care and are ideal playmates for young children. The frolicking of shmoos is so entertaining (such as their staged “shmoosical comedies”) that people no longer feel the need to watch television or go to the movies.
Some of the more tasty varieties of shmoo are more difficult to catch, however. Usually shmoo hunters, now a sport in some parts of the country, use a paper bag, flashlight, and stick to capture their shmoos. At night the light stuns them, then they may be whacked in the head with the stick and put in the bag for frying up later on.

It has been a difficult year of illness, death & betrayal (sounds like a soap opera!), but there have been many years worse than this so I’m not complaining. I just pray people’s hearts are changed. I just have not had the time or energy to do what I used to, and I do miss being here with you all.

Except for the unrestrrainted wagging dog tail, there’s been no damage so far. I try to put plastic ornaments on the lower branches. So far, no cat has tried to climb it either.

Every year my friend’s mother set up a Christmas tree worthy of the Better Homes & Gardens cover. One year the cat climbed to the top – & just soaked it! I’m surprised the cat lived!
Maybe there’s an anti-cat spray that does not stink.

Gotcha. I took a chance thinking, but thx for the explanation. So have a great, joyous, wonderful Christmas. I rejoice to know there are still geniune souls who understand and treasure the great Gift God our Father sacrificed and gave to us.
I am not into any commercial aspect of Christmas at all. I was able to help somebody out of a tight bind the other day…then my friend was able to buy groceries for a sickly woman at W-Mart that same day…passing it along. That’s the real Spirit of Christmas to me…Jesus’s words about a cup of cold water…
I hope every year to be closer to the Lord regardless what it costs in this world. First order of business for me is what Paul said…that I may know Him. He desires us to know Him and be for Him, His Heart, even before what we do for Him.
Fellowship and communion with the Lord leads to all the rest of the benefits of our relationship with Him. May you and yours find great peace and joy in that communion of fellowship with Him.

It is amazing – the depth of Love – that God has for us that He would come down to our level, be born into an animal feeder, & go through everything He did when He did not have to. He did it for Love of us. To imagine the world without His coming to show us The Way is something I have to realize, but do not want to dwell on.
Hardly anyone I know takes part in the commercial Christmas. It is about our Love & families – the Holy Family, our families & the family of “man” – and helping others as thanks for the greatest of gifts which God has bestowed on us.
Sitting down and spending a weekend reading straight through the entire New Testament changed my life. THIS is the way it should be. THIS is what I will follow. As a Catholic I had listened to the entire bible multiple times over (in pieces) as Mass readings which always did have an effect on me, but not nearly as much as reading the New Testament straight through, & then doing research on particular passages.
I also am devoted to & Love the Holy Spirit, who has made a HUGE difference in my life, & suggest to others to become devoted to Him as well.
I consider myself a vessel, a bit broken, that Christ has repaired even stronger than before so I may choose to serve Him. God gives us a choice. The help you give others is the good choice you have made to show God’s Love through your hands. You are wise to choose to desire & strive to know and follow Him. In the end there is only Love & Heaven or hate & he!!. God gives us a choice & we make that choice.
True Joy & Peace only come through Christ, I agree. It gives me Joy to see that Peace & Joy in you. God Bless you & keep you in the palm of His hand.

Beautiful reply. Truly said and written by a true member of the Body of Jesus Christ. So much apostasy and earthen wisdom of false lights today, but the Holy Spirit is doing a great and deep work, albeit quietly for now, but holy, heavenly and real as He builds up the saints, brings them together in the Union of His Love, preparing them for the greater battle ahead against Satan and his fortress of the gates of Hell.
Ephesians is the quintessential book to understand how the Holy Spirit works for, by and within the Body of Christ and the true Church.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas ! I’m just happy to be alive and breathing with my DH trying his best to help me out with whatever needs to be done.
We’re not doing too much this year, it’s only the two of us. We definitely are trying to make fun for the critters. Dog person is getting a floppy stuffed duck, bird person is getting a new sand perch and a hangy toy, and kitty is getting balls with bells! Our most fun on Christmas day is watching dog person open her gift! She goes wild! Cat loves to play fetch.
Other than that, it’s just all food! Babyback ribs tonight, and ham tomorrow. I reckon this Christmas will be porky!
We haven’t had a tree for a few years due to difficulty with my disabilities, but I have an ancient sled that we decorate with teddy bears and Christmas pretties. Sometimes one of the bears will disappear! It shows up in the dog’s where she has decided it’s her friend, lol.
