Finally had time to really listen to the Barr interview.

    Things Barr states in the interview;

The conduct of the people who ran the FISA investigation at the very top of the FBI is questionable.

Predication in the Papadopoulos case is questionable. When did the collusion narrative begin? Was the comment by Papadopoulos (Russian dirt on Hillary) a pretext for real predication or a green light for a preexisting desire to look at the Trump campaign. Legally Papadopoulos statement had very little probative value.

“I think it’s very hard to square that these were just mistakes and sloppiness I have said a number of these episodes leave open the possibility of inferring bad faith or improper motive but I hasten to add that I’ve said all along I’ve reached no determination on that nor do I think a final interpretation of that is appropriate until all the evidence is in. Uhh..Horowitz himself in his testimony I think pretty well summed it up which is this could be on one hand gross incompetence or on the other hand it could be improper motive and he couldn’t make that call and that’s why we have the US attorney John Durham looking into this .”__AG Barr

AG Barr in true lawyerly speak states that he himself is not in the position, as of yet, to make the call on gross incompetence vs improper motive.

Notice how much legal speak Barr uses about all of this. How dispassionate.

He is much more straight forward when it comes to James Comey. It is obvious that Comey is a rung below a dung beetle in Barr’s list of who to save from a burning building.

“One of the things I object to is the tac being taken by Comey which is to suggest that people who are criticizing or trying to get to the bottom of the misconduct are some how attacking the FBI, I think that’s nonsense. We’re criticizing and concerned about misconduct by a few actors at the top of the FBI and they should be criticized if they engaged in serious misconduct. That doesn’t mean we’re criticizing the FBI and I think the tac of trying to wrap yourself in the institution and say “Gee people who are criticizing decisions I made are attacking the institution.” …..

“I think leaders have to own their decisions and are fair game if they make bad decisions.” ( I’m not sure why but Richard Connell’s “The most dangerous game” came to mind when Barr called Comey “game”, but I’m sure that was not Barr’s intent).

Barr’s statement about Comey is the most personal and un-lawyerly thing he says in the entire interview, he even mocks Comey’s “Aw Shucks” persona by throwing the folksy “Gee” in there. In other words I believe that Barr has James (“Look Mom in Law ❤️ I’m not going to Prison”) Comey nailed in.

Barr unequivocally states that Comey is a liar.

Barr also confirmed my thought that Horowitz was not limited in drawing a conclusion between gross misconduct and bad motive based on lack of evidence but rather by the limited legal scope of Horowitz’s own investigation.

Barr confirms that Durham is conducting a criminal investigation into individuals in the NSA, CIA and FBI.

Candidate Trump should have been given a defensive brief if the FBI thought his campaign had been compromised. He was not. This alone is questionable conduct by the FBI.

“If you’re interested in protecting the election you give a defensive briefing.”___AG Barr << First direct assertion by Barr that in his opinion the investigation was conducted in bad faith.

Notice Barr’s face when MM asks him “And why do you think they didn’t do that?” …. Barr definitely knows the answer to her question but he represses a smile and says “We’ll see.”

AG Barr has such an affable affect that I find him incredibly charming. Listening to him is like watching your enemy poke a sleeping Cobra.

    What a nice interview.

UK lawmakers approve Boris Johnson’s Brexit bill

    https://nypost.com/2019/12/20/uk-lawmakers-approve-boris-johnsons-brexit-bill/

LONDON — British lawmakers approved in principle Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Brexit bill, clearing the way for the UK to leave the European Union next month.

The House of Commons voted 358-234 on Friday for the Withdrawal Agreement Bill. It will receive more scrutiny and possible amendment next month, and also has to be approved by Parliament’s upper chamber, the House of Lords.

But Johnson’s commanding majority in Parliament means it is almost certain to become law in January. Britain will then leave the EU on Jan. 31.

Johnson said Friday that passing the bill would end the “acrimony and anguish” that has consumed the country since it voted in 2016 to leave the EU. Opponents argue that leaving the EU will only trigger more uncertainty over Britain’s future trade relations with the bloc.

I had concerns ahead of the UK election. The Boris deal was (is) simply not Brexit. It is a new treaty, no better than Theresa May’s deal. As far as the “Transition Period” up to December 2020…..The EU leaders had already gone on record to say that would be extended for 2 more years (and more), and that UK were going to be forced to stay in alignment with EU (in ALL significant ways). The plotters who have blocked Brexit for 3 years have never hidden very well the fact that they want UK to be so badly off after “Brexit”, that they will BEG to be allowed to join up again (under even less favorable conditions than now). I was NOT HAPPY at the prospect of all that!!

However…. I am RELIEVED to see Boris is modifying the conditions already, and seems genuine in his moves to get some sort of real “Brexit”. It would have been “nice” if Farage had got a few seats in Parliament, if only to have a voice to remind Boris of what the people voted for, but it was always UNLIKELY a new party could win a seat in the entrenched UK electoral system.

I do get the impression that Farage is pleased with Boris (so far)

This Guy, Jeff Taylor… is UKIP.. he was a Council Member for UKIP. He too seems to approve of Boris and the Tories performance since the election.

Nigel was very skeptical of Johnson. The fact that Nigel tweeted “Brexit is happening. An historic moment.” leads me to believe that the changes made to Johnson’s original proposal are very positive and it is not just lipstick on a swine.

    Countering the Left’s Dishonest Narratives
    By R. Quinn Kennedy – December 20, 2019

In a December 5th, 2019 New YorkTimes opinion piece, the headlined screamed, “Donald Trump is a Clear and Present Danger to the 2020 Election.” The insinuation was obvious: President Trump is so corrupt that he will rig the 2020 election. As if to underscore the point, the sub-head read, “Who gets to pick the next president of the United States — President Trump, Russia, or us?” Again with the Russia thing.

Tom Fitton – Judicial watch… weekly Update…. LIVE NOW

He has a good suggestion… should have been done before Congress Impeachment vote… could still be done now?

SENATE needs to hold some sort of “Preliminary hearing” now… ahead of any Impeachment trial.. in fact there should NOT be an impeachment trial at all. The stuff in Congress is ILLEGITIMATE. The Senate need to call in Schiff (and others) and expose the nonsense in Congress.

I love the idea… but in reality… the Senate are NOT that great themselves… IF the Senate was a serious body (as intended) they might take up an idea like this… but I can not see with this crop.

Among other things… Judicial Watch STILL seeking Hillary email info.

IT IS A TRAVESTY that Judicial watch is not only battling Hillary legal team.. but also the Current TRUMP administration.. State and Justice department. As Fitton says… “Trump should be blowing his top” over HIS departments covering for Hillary!
At a hearing this week. Judicial watch had 2 lawyers.. they faced SIX (top) Lawyers from State and Justice departments… as well as TWO lawyers for Hillary and TWO lawyers for Heather Mills… So a Total of EIGHT TOP LAWYERS working to cover for Hillary still.

      The point….

I ACCEPT there will be some people in some (all) agencies, department etc who are “bending the rules”.. and easy for that to escalate to be very serious. I can even accept that it is “at the top” and can become so widespread, and taint the entire Agency.

What is FRUSTRATING is that long after this stuff is EXPOSED… it has not been STOPPED and people held accountable.. and so it continues, and in fact spreads and gets worse as those responsible are STILL IN PLACE.. working to cover-up past bad deeds by continuing to do more bad deeds.

I’m a veteran of that, it’s how the system is run. It’s hard for non-employees to visualize how deeply entrenched and entwined the bureaucracy in an agency is, and how non-connected agencies can come to each other’s aid to save the bureaucratic institution.

There’s also a nightmare web of laws that Congress has passed over the last 100 years that the bureaucrats use to fight the system. Perhaps you can get a few to actors if they’ve actually broken a law but trying to burrow down and root out the rot is harder than punching out the Pillsbury Dough Boy. The bureaucrats have also diversified their operations thru the districts of numerous Reps and Senators and spread their employment and fiscal contracting widely thru each district, ensuring a vigorous response to any Congresspukes daring to take the system on.

The effected agencies will have a stage show including spokesperson skilled in contrite , hand-wringing apologies and promises of change. They’ll paint the walls, move people/change job titles and move some desks and furniture around while they wait for the public’s short attention span to kick in. At some point their public information office will release a scripted piece detailing their ‘deep, meaningful and lasting change’ and that will be that.

People also don’t have a grasp on how deep and wide some agencies are. My favorite, the CIA, operates businesses that aren’t listed as such but provide a chunk of their budget. They are also spread out all over the country, have their fingers in multiple agencies pies and aside from that ‘spook’ cachet do have access to an immense amount of information that can be leveraged. I’ll again point to Carter’s attempt to gut the Agency but he not only failed but the Agency came back bigger and stronger. I dare any president to take it on now.

NSA’s the same, their mission creep has taken them into spying on the US as a whole, they now LEGALLY access the country’s metadata daily…imagine the leverage they have over politicians at all levels.

The bureaucracy is a cancer that I think is impossible to clean up. Best I see doi g is somewhat containing it but unless you sit right on top of it, full time and eye to eye, it takes off again.

I’m thinking that this is what AG Barr was talking about when he stressed that the predication in the Papadopoulos case may have been a preexisting (bad faith) desire to look into the Trump campaign.

Time to talk about that quintessential Democratic-run city, New Orleans!

Y’all remember that Hard Rock Hotel collapse? Well it’s still going on. First we were supposed to see it all gone by mid-February, in time for Mardi Gras…that’s off the books and parades will have to detour. Then only the mess on top was supposed to go, saving the first number of original stories, after a study that’s a no-go. The project now has a guesstimated completion date of maybe sometime after summer…maybe. Oh yeah, the broken crane has been ‘stabilized’ and is still hanging over and off of the building.

Now the owner of two adjacent buildings, both deeply immersed on the city’s history, especially the civil right era, has filed for a permit to demolish those two buildings. Thety. aren’t terribly damaged, they could be repaired with insurance money, but they’re only about six stories and a huge many-storied hotel could be built there. Canal Street is losing its historic charm and is becoming more like Las Vegas…minus the charm.

Under our string of black, Democratic mayors many historical spots deeply associated with the city’s looooong music history and civil rights struggle have been bulldozed. It was seen as racist when a white mayor bulldozed Louis Armstrong’s birth house to build city hall but when a long string of black mayors bulldoze sites directly related to the birth of jazz and the start of the civil rights struggle it’s…PROGRESS!

The city’s schools are still a disaster area, still ranked in the very bottom of those in the US. Our latest school year is no better, maybe worse, than last years but the good news is that with the ongoing Democratic government there’ll be tons of minimum wage jobs in the service industry for this and future waves of NOLA grad-u-ates. Democrats…
