    Have a beautiful day folks.

    A couple of updates.

    My cousin continues to defy the odds and is still with us, still rail thin but the cancer is at bay, no new growths and the original tumors are gone. Health is still frail. Thank you for your beautiful prayers.

    My friend’s daughter who was in the school that had the shooting is doing very well. She won a Christmas contest this week (She went as the blizzard that almost stopped Christmas dressed all in white 😅). Today she is dressing as rudolph 🙂 . Happy happy girl.

      Some people just have by golly undefeatable genetics. My husband had an aunt who lived past 90. She was a tiny little woman, active, as in on the go all day long, and she drove herself, up until a few years before she died, and she was never house bound or bed ridden, just got so she couldn’t drive at the end.

      That woman ate more sugar and fried foods in her life than you can even imagine. Never had a bit of trouble with her heart, or anything like that. What ultimately got her was a fall outside. She was probably doing yard work. I am not as healthy at almost 62 as she was at 90.

        Oh, and weird observation by my husband. Most of the women in his paternal family line live long, healthy lives. The men die much younger and their health is not as robust. I wonder why that is.

        I had an aunt who lived to be almost 100. She died just a few weeks of her 100th birthday. She was not very active and ate pretty much what she wanted. She was very small and thin and had her mind right up until the last few months. My father and mother were both over 90 when they died. My brother died of cancer that had spread when he was 50 and my sister died last year at 67 of two kinds of cancer of the spine.

        There are many doctors who say that the main thing you can do to stay alive as a senior is to not fall.

          I think there is truth in that. You fall, break a hip, and go into the hospital and very often things go downhill from there. The usual hospital food alone could do it. 🙄

            Usually you break a hip due to bad bone density and then fall, ending up as a mildly-producing cash cow at a hospital. I think that were the system to take better care of the patient before s/he has that fall….but then it is what it is.

          So much grief and trouble can be avoided by using a cane, even in the house. I use one everywhere but have friends and relatives who refuse to use a cane even though they are not that stable on their feet. I also have two different types of walkers and a wheelchair. No pride problem with using any of them. Honestly…as though other people can’t see that you’re old and unstable. And besides, using a cane or walker often causes young men to assist you in walking or carrying items. Has its advantages. LOL!

    Seems the Shiite hit the fan when Moslem Community Patrol members roughed up a young black man outside of a mosque as they said he dissed a Moslem woman on about the 10th of this month.

    Problem is, the young black man was the son of a ranking member of the 8th Street Bloods. A group of Bloods then went to the mosque on Saturday and beat up a random Moslem guy so badly he ended up at the hospital – ironically to the Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center.

    I have a feeling that this isn’t over and will escalate. A nightmare for the NYC press, marauding Moslems fighting with black thugs…who will they blame????? Oh wait, Trump of course.

      They’d better do something. I’ve been looking on Chinese sites and they’re coming up with full-sized pickups in US designs, it’s almost as if they did their homework on what American want in a truck.

      Their in-China price, if you want to get one and have it shipped here, is much less than what a dealer would pay here for a Big-3 truck equally equipped. Thing that’s holding it up is the Chinese setting up dealerships and service centers.

    One need look no further than New Orleans to see what a Democrat-run city looks like. I won’t even get into the Sewerage and Water Board, a rolling disaster that keeps endlessly limping along, I’ll just stick with the school board.

    The school board has, since the first of the school year, wallowed in a sea of self-made stupidity. To begin with they contracted with a ‘vetted’ school bus company that had uninspected busses, unqualified drivers and had dummied up phony auto/liability insurance contracts. No one really checked.

    They’ve had other screwups during the year since but today they had a school bus overturn, injuring 9 students – nonme seriously. So far we’ve discovered that the driver was totally unqualified to be driving that bus, had the board reviewed and checked the drivers’ bona fides he’d have been, or should have been, disqualified from even being within 50 feet of a school bus. No word on if the bus is insured or if the rollover was due to mechanical and/or driver issues but I’m seeing lawsuits on the horizon.

    Not to be outdone at the state level, after a close and contentious gubernatorial election in which the Rats…organized…a huge number of black voters to support Br’er Edwards, Edwards turned around and is allowing the construction of a huge chemical plant in a neighboring parish. The plant will not only be built in a predominantly black community but it will be built right over the top of a historical black cemetery. State’s working with the company to see about limited access to the cemetery for family and other interested parties. Problem with being sheep is at times you end up as mutton.
