I don’t know what it is about that Pearl River just about 14 miles to our west but there are times it’s like a brick wall to storms. We had a thick and nasty storm line associated with a cold front headed for us at about 10 PM but, as they often do, this one hit that Pearl and breakup or just disappear. It’s about 5 miles west of the Pearl and is breaking up into small patches – not that I’m complaining – and the patches are weakening. If we gotta get cold I prefer a drier cold.

Boy did we get storms last night. Around 9 I suddenly got to experience “the bottom fell out” term. Right over the the house suddenly the was a clap of sound, not thunder, but amdeluge of rain hitting the roof.

It was raining so hard that it sounded like rain on a metal roof, but our roof isn’t metal. Lots of lightening, some thunder, it was really a show for awhile. The dogs were very unsettled, wouldn’t lay down and settle the whole time.

Trees are probably too far away to damage the house. I rolled over and went to sleep without a care in the world, unlike when I used to be afraid a tree was going to hit the cabin.

I spoke too soon – about ten minutes after I posted that it opened up and inside of an hour we got 1.5″ of rain in about an hour. I went back and watched the radar – a huge ‘red’ storm just formed out of nothing a few miles to our east and jed growed, covering us and flooding the area. Hubris.

Glad you are ok! You were in my prayers last night for weather protection; I spoke with my cousin in Birmingham who said they were on tornado watch in her area.

Yeah, we’re in a tornado bullseye here. We had a tornado rip thru the property in Katrina before we built on it, blew down between 11 and 14 thousand 20-year old pines. That was a clean up. Then on Christmas day in 2012 one hit, an EF-3 started about 6 miles south of us and died out about 2 miles south of us, leaving torn homes that still haven’t been totally rebuilt. About 16 months after that an EF-1 passed by about 1/4 mile to the west.

We knew about the tornadoes and, after Katrina, we built a concrete house with a roof that surprised the inspectors. With 1st responder assistance sorta limited in the best of times we can’t afford to take too many chances.

Growing up in tornado alley one of the worst tornadoes I remember as a girl happened in January. Being Oklahoma it was downright warn for 2 days, then storms and the tornado, next day it was snowing and it kept snowing for 3 days, eventually the ground temps dropped enough that it started accumulating, we ended up with 16″, which is a pretty good snowfall for Oklahoma. Who knows how much we would have had if it hadn’t been for the warm January weather that produced the tornadoes.

You can keep the rain though, we got ice yesterday, but just on everything elevated. This has been the wettest year I can remember, I wouldn’t mind a few months of no rain. lol

Your neck of the woods, Stella.
I copied and pasted this::::::Foriegn Interference!!! What really is your deal, Lori Malburg of Romeo, Michigan doing this anti-Trump commercial??
Have you seen this woman on ads blaming Donald Trump for not keeping campaign promises causing her to lose her benefits? Well, look closely folks! Look at the last picture that shows who’s paying for that advertising. AB foundation! Now Google them. Guess what, they are a nonprofit organization in Bangladesh, founded by Dr Md Amjad Hossain?? Why would they be paying to influence an American election in Michigan of all places? They want you to believe they are a charitable Islamic organization working to help the poor. So ask yourself how a Donald Trump campaign promise to this woman affects their objectives. Does it make sense? Do you understand how foreign money is being used to influence you? Did she really lose some benefit? How much is she being paid for her lies? (Credit Mike Andrus)

I did some more research on this ad. American Bridge 21st Century, a Democratic opposition research group and political action committee, dropped $3 million on commercials that began airing Wednesday, Nov. 13, in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The ads, which feature first-person testimonials from former Trump supporters, as part of a larger effort to flip white, working-class voters in battleground states.

Lori Malburg is a Romeo Republican featured in the Michigan ad who suffers from a rare chronic pain syndrome. Malburg said her healthcare premiums increased under the Trump administration.

Chronic pain is a stinkin’ thing. Sorry she has to endure it. However, one person’s experience is essentially meaningless to the nation. If they can find 10,000 people whose premiums went up, then it would be relevant. Counterbalance her experience with those whose premiums went down or who now have jobs so that they can afford health care at all.

It’s an emotional appeal which the Dems use continuously in their victim agenda, and it’s reprehensible.

      According to Wiki:

American Bridge 21st Century is a liberal American Super PAC that supports Democratic candidates and opposes Republican candidates. It was founded by David Brock in 2010 and is associated with Media Matters for America. It is an opposition research hub for the Democratic Party.

American Bridge PAC employs over 50 “trackers” to follow and record Republican candidates across the country. These trackers are equipped with high-tech recording gear and are assigned Republican targets to follow and record. According to the New York Times, the organization “aims to record every handshake, every utterance by Republican candidates…looking for gotcha moments that could derail political ambitions or provide fodder for television advertisements by liberal groups.” USA Today described the group’s goal as “uncovering an unguarded moment, a controversial position, a gaffe or flip-flop, anything that can be used to torpedo a political foe’s campaign.” The organization compiles opposition research dossiers on the Republican candidates they are targeting. The group’s opposition dossier on Mitt Romney was 2,500 pages long. American Bridge PAC attempts to tie Republican candidates to the Koch brothers.

American Bridge PAC is largely funded by Democratic donors and labor unions. Billionaire hedge fund manager George Soros was the group’s largest donor for the 2012 and 2014 cycles, contributing $1 million in 2012 and over $1 million in 2014. In 2012, the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees donated $575,000. American Bridge was one of several progressive political groups to coordinate fundraising efforts for the 2012 elections.

Kendra Horn is making me laugh, she at first let on within the last 24 hours that she wasn’t voting to impeach, now suddenly she is voting to impeach. I guess Nancy cracked the whip, but I don’t think most understand the situation she’s in, the chances she was going to be reelected were slim to none anyway. For starters she was elected because the Republican just thought the R was enough to get elected and didn’t require any work, which would have worked any other year, but the teachers were out in full force after their strike, working hard to get democrats and liberal Republicans elected, most of their damage was at the state level, although a few apple candidates fooled them and now have pissed them off, but Horn benefited from the teacher year.

Some of the fooled Republican voters that helped elect her threw in with teachers and thought she was an old time conservative Oklahoma democrat, didn’t take them long to regret that. Teachers won’t be out next time and even if they were, they lost most of their support from the public.

So she really has nothing to lose, her political career is over in Oklahoma unless they figure out how to rig the election and there are some really good Republican candidates running for that district this time. She has more to gain from the democrats who might give her a job somewhere in the party or set her up in a cushy job in the private sector or non-profit.
