I will have the eggs, bacon, and a doughnut. Mornin’ Nyet. 🙂 When I was visiting my family, we went to an Amish store. The doughnuts there were so large you could only have put four in that box. I had to use two hands to eat one.

I once stayed there in the 70’s for about 3 months. They have a Mayan Pyramid and a nearby active volcano! It was an interesting visit, but I sure was glad to get home!

I have discovered an El Salvadoran restaurant not too far away. Holy cow, have I gotten addicted to papusas! I love them.

There is a small Spanish church near where I used to work, they would have papusas for sale every Friday to raise money for the church. The church ladies made them, and they were so good!

I was watching the new president of El Salvador in a press conference. He’s interesting as he comes from a split Catholic/Moslem family, his brother is the imam for the Moslem community in El Salvador.
He’s a very successful businessman and speaks fluent English and seems to be more business than politics oriented while being affiliated the Salvadoran GANA political machine, a center-right party that flirts with the country’s leftist party.. He also says he believes in God before religion, conveniently sidestepping the issue. He may be new to politics but he’s becoming a good politician.
He’s sucking up to the US, supporting the weekly US deportation flights returning illegals back to El Salvador in return for economic help. He admits that his biggest problem is the violence from the gangs there, especially MS-13, but is using more progressive measures to deal with them rather than…shall we say…more effective means. I’m betting that the ‘human rights’ crowd in Congress and the media are pushing for those proven ineffective but warm-fuzzy programs, tying them to US $$$ heading his way.
Good luck to him, he’ll need it, those gangs have their own supporters in the Salvadoran political parties, a major reason along with the usual Latin American inability to effectively deal with problems, and are quite powerful. We’ve long known about connections between the gangs and Salvadoran politicians, military and police factions but haven’t been able to fdo much about it. He’s going to be fighting other politicians, gangs and his methods will be shackled by US prog pols

Good morning all. Off to a good start on this week of Christmas preparations I hope.
We had such a big, busy weekend. My husband got to join me for two grandchildren’s Christmas performances Friday, a rare treat for him, the we had a dance recital Saturday, and taking four of the children to a local church’s Walk Through Bethlehem, which was absolutely awesome.
My granddaughter has been a dance student for three or four years now. She is seven. She has been enthusiastic, but not particularly gifted or graceful in ballet and tap, but I figured that would come, if she likes it.
This year our little sweetie, Irish on both sides of her family, chose Irish stepdance classes. She knocked us off our seats with her performance. Truly one of the best dancers in her class, she was graceful, had great form, and just radiated beauty. The pictures and video show hints of the lovely and vibrant young woman she will become.
Oh my, what an absolute treat it was to be there and see it. I think she may have found a passion, something she has a gift for, and I am grateful she will have that. Her mother cried through the whole performance. She hasn’t taken classes in a couple of years, but she is a step dancer too, as is one other young lady in their family. Anyhow, wonderful times to share.
I hope all is well and you all have things in hand for a magnificent Christmas next week. You will all be in my prayers especially this next week. I have a great time here, and I appreciate the wit and humor and wisdom of all of you.
If any old friends are lurking, I miss you all too, and still pray for you guys as well.

I just got through working with the Geek Squad to try to fix my computer. He finally suggested reinstalling Firefox. So that is what he did. I don’t know what this will mean to me. I hope it doesn’t turn into a nightmare. So far, so good. But, it has only been about 15 min. He uninstalled Adblock Plus, but that didn’t stop the problem, so we went ahead with reinstalling Firefox. 🙄
