    We bought a blow-up air bed thingie designed for kids,,,but we bought it for our old dog Daisy. She’s got arthritis and has some problems getting up from the cold tile floors at times. I thought an air bed would be soft and keep her up off of the cold.

    I blew it up and despite coaxing she wouldn’t come near it…then BD, the #2 dog, discovered it and parked on it most of the evening. Now BD’s on the couch and Daisy’s finally decided that if BD likes it Daisy will take it. Problem solved, just use doggie ego and it all comes out as it’s supposed to.

    Unusual and very good video by Alabama. I listened because I love to hear Randy Owen sing religious material, but I got a little surprise in the content. I had never watched this one before.

        I used to work for the distributor who sold Marvin Windows wholesale. One member of the band had built a house and bought windows and doors, before my time with the company, but occasionally I dealt with some warranty issues, IIRC with his daughter, who managed his property and home. I was mostly a step removed, being the whosaler.

        According to the people I worked with, the guy was great to deal with, even when his windows wound up having a bad batch of glass in them. Of course, I’m sure it helped that Marvin Windows handles problems as well or better than the initial order. I’ve never seen a company who better stands behind their product.

        Anyhow, it was neat to hear some few personal experiences from people who got to know one of them a little. The salesman who actually handled the order lived in Ft. Payne and knew their families a little. No person I have ever heard of around here who knows anything about the band members has ever had a bad thing to say. In this day and age of celebrity butt syndrome, I guess I like that better than their music.

          Alabama used to throw June Jam, a C&W music fest in Ft PAyne that drew thousands and brought tons of money into town. All of the fest’s profits went to various groups in town from schools to 1st responders, they became modern and as well equipped as any in the South over the years.

          Local ‘leaders’ got tired of the crowds, etc, and the whining got to the point where the guys cancelled the fest, the city/county killed the golden goose.

      I’m thinking Bloomberg’s positioning himself as the dark horse candidate I’ve been looking for. He’s declared and now he’s starting the artillery barrage to soften up the enemy.

      Bloomberg’s enemy is Trump, not other Democrats, and he has no desire to start any fratricidal wars before it’s absolutely necessary. He just joins the mass of Democratic trolls who’ve been attacking Trump all along, isn’t wasting ammo attacking the current Rat pack – indeed they’re destroying themselves – and appears to be a Rat peacemaker and quite moderate in comparison to the rest of the field. They are helping Bloomberg more than themselves.

      I can see Bloomberg as president, issuing dictates left and right as he tried in NYC. He’s already tried his campaign strategies in Virginia and they worked, he bought the state’s government, so he’s on the way.

        He meddled a lot in Georgia politics too, IIRC. I read a Guy of Facebook who has been saying for some time that Bloomberg is the guy who will battle Trump. To be honest, it kind of scares me.

    Good morning everyone. Hope your week is going well. I’m so excited I can’t sit still. My littlest grandson will be spending the night tonight, and I have the Tree set up and ready for him to decorate. My son says he’s all about the “kitmas tree” so I hope he will be excited and happy. Now that I think about it, I must make a store run for half and half and cocoa for my husband’s famous hot chocolate, and we might need to make little gingerbread men too.

    I don’t know what the difference is with the grandkids but they sure are more fun. Even though we did those special things with the boys, and even though I so treasured those times, it is just more all out fun with grandkids. No matter how big the mess, it’s all good fun. Hopping to go with them to the Christmas parade in my little old town we just left this Friday.

    Lots of fun days ahead. We will probably have them over to make cookies, maybe even sun bread, as one grandson calls the pretty round maple walnut pastry we make. Maybe I can find some craft projects to do, hopefully with a religious theme.

    There’s just no getting around it. Kids make things more fun.

      I share this every year since I’ve found it. It’s very good, and if you want to make an impressive gift this is also very easy to do. It’s one of the rare recipes that you can actually make look like the picture. And did I mention delicious? The kids just love to make what they call sun bread.

      I think that the best thing about grandkids is you can send them home when they start to wear. You get the good parts and mom and dad get all of those sturm and drang moments you had to deal with when they lived with you. Intrafamily schadenfreude.

        Yep, strongly suspect you are right. It’s like getting to eat the icing off every cupcake.

        I think that it is somewhat of a relief for the kids too, though, as though they tire of day in, day out family stuff with “the parents” as my granddaughter sometimes refers to them. Even the two autistic boys rarely have the meltdowns here, and behave far better. I think they need the fun escape and I know their parents do.
