Happy Thanksgiving all ya’all! Bright, beautiful day with nice temps predicted this aftenoon. Here’s our contribution to the table decorations. You remember Skeleton Dog who wore a prison suit for Halloween? He’s in season appropriate clothing again…

impact glass with a heavy frame, rated for 155 mph impacts due to our being in a hurricane/tornado zone. Front and garage doors are the heavy steel doors you find in businesses with alley portals – steel with steel frames and heavy Medico locks. As we’re that far out the heavy doors provide a barrier as the sheriff’s response time at best would be about 20 minutes – gives one time to dial 911 while grabbing a gun (CZ met me with her shotgun last nite as I came in rather unannounced – at least that’s what she claimed). Anyway, unless you close the doors carefully the vibrations from the door travel thru the concrete walls and as the sheetrock’s attached to the concrete the vibrations go tom whatever’s on the walls. The big pix take it well but we’re constantly readjusting the smaller ones that are all akimbo on every wall. The four walls in the dining room are festooned with pix of family and animals. Those pix are of our dogs while another wall is for our cats, a 3rd for her family and a 4th for mine. The dining table is reserved for things that make our neighbors and their kids sort of avoid us.

@#$%& WP this AM. It wouldn’t post my reply, kept on telling me WP wouldn’t accept it, so I opened a new tab, went to the thread and started over. The old WP reply box shrunk down to about 4 lines and wouldn’t open so I had to had to cut/paste from one tab to another about 4 lines at a time. For whatever reason when it posted here WP cut the beginning. I’m going out to make lunch.

Shopuld start: ‘The French doors are high-…’

WP perfected those techniques on me, czar. Those 2 to 4 lines at a time are particularly frustrating. Heck, some of my comments are just eaten into the ether, never to be heard from again.
But, take heart. Forty-leven years of gubmint service, and you are now deemed a threat.
          What a promotion!

Glad you didn’t say I did government ‘work’, sorta how I refer to my time with them as ’employment’. Now I’m gonna have another piece of pecan pie.

I stuff my turkey with apples and as it roasts I have quartered onions, carrots and celery in the pan. That’s just us, I like the sweeter and moister turkey. Sometimes I inject, sometimes brine but I still like he veggies in there.

I toss them all except for the carrots that I like to put into instant bho ko. Last night I took all of the veggies and the bones/scraps I’d boiled down for gumbo and put them out about 60 yards from the house. There was still meat and skin on many of the bones and the veggies had been well soaked in the turkey broth and fat. Just went out and checked – everything’s gone and they licked the grass clean.

Dinner is over – the final prep was done in cooperation with my grandsons and my daughter. Everything was absolutely delicious! I will always prepare my turkey this way in the future. I did everything differently than I normally do, and it was a big improvement.

My still being a tad under the weather and my niece canceling her trip to see me this week, I spent the day reading and sorting items for giveaway, writing birthday cards, and having some left over chicken with cheese on top and a teensy bit of mashed potatoes. Fine, filled me up.

Then about 5:30 my doorbell rang and it was my neighbor bringing me a full turkey dinner. All-in-all a happy Thanksgiving with much to be thankful for.

    God bless!
