Watching the Coup Crew Circus.
Shitt is an absolute madman, he is using the debate skills of a kindergartner. I do not think it is a stretch to believe that Shitt believes if he sticks his fingers in his ears that other people can’t hear him.
This is wild. What an interesting study in the deranged human psyche.
Abnormal Psychology 101 Shitt needs his own section.

Seen on Facebook. What do you think?
I could be wrong but I feel like Sondland was forced into saying some things. He’d made a lot of assumptions, he didn’t really know a lot at the time, he had a lot of unrelated things going on, he didn’t take good notes, he doesn’t have a good memory. He doesn’t seem like he’s trying to nail the president, more that he’s trying to agree with whoever is questioning him. And that agreeableness accounts for his actions too. He was trying to get the money to Ukraine. He didn’t really know much about the holdup and just figured he’d try to get zielinski to agree to give Trump when he wanted. He’s trying to give both the Democrats and Republicans the answers they want.
You see what I’m saying? He’s not a thinker, he’s not a lawyer or rule maker or idealogue. He’s an agreeable facilitator. He was trying to move the ball forward figuring he could try to get everybody what they need, without necessarily getting into why what they needed was justified or not. He doesn’t seem like that kind of thinker. He doesn’t actually know a lot.
Have you ever been to one of these one or two hour arbitration or mediation sessions? The mediator doesn’t really know the ins-and-outs of why you want what you want or the details of how you got there. He’s just trying to get everyone to agree and compromise so that everyone can get on the same page and move forward.
Such a facilitator naturally assumes that everything is a quid pro quo in a way. Get everyone to compromise; get everyone to give a little bit. If the ex-wife will give back the baseball card collection, the ex-husband will give up on the idea of taking the kids cross country to his parents for Christmas.
Thus Sondland’s role and demeanor contributed to his assumption that everything was a trade, while everyone else around him was seeing things from a different angle.
His testimony is just not the basis for facts. The mediator can’t tell you about the sentimental value of the baseball collection nor can he adjudicate the dispute between the ex-wife and her mother-in-law that has her so opposed to the Christmas plan. To the mediator it’s about everyone agreeing to things and moving forward in the present and then it’s forgotten. Kind of why he doesn’t remember clearly. he’s not one of these people that’s remembering everything to build a case.
Thus Sondland is a fish out of water in a detailed fact-based analysis. He was led around by both sides. He honestly just doesn’t know.

I think this nails it.
I thought Sonland was weird but couldn’t put my finger on what it was that was weird about him.
The Democrats loved him until he went off script but with prompting from his questioner he got back on script pretty readily.
Sonland was lead throughout the entire time I watched him (which wasn’t that long).

I’ve come to the conclusion that the Democrat’s prepared Sondland’s opening statement. Sondland’s personal testimony never really jibed with the written opening statement and I think Sondland was informed that he just needed to agree with everything and I concur with your assessment lovely.
Sondland is in the Hotel service industry. Pleasing people, making everyone happy….it’s his strength.

I didn’t watch enough and I missed his opening statement but I’ll trust your take in it, seems very reasonable.
“Sondland is in the Hotel service industry. Pleasing people, making everyone happy….it’s his strength.” << Thank you, that is very telling as to his base go to interaction with people especially people who may be unpleasant.
