With all the questions, both good and bad, that could have been asked, the first one is about the impeachment. SMH And, it was OAN, too. And, did she really think it through, I mean he was in meetings with Erdogan. Seriously!

Erdogan is a totally untrustworthy jihadist. I hate that the U.S. needs to make nice with this thug. There are all kinds of stories about how he never really participated in a true cease fire in Syria, killing plenty of Kurds during the time frame. We need to take our military bases out of Turkey tomorrow. There are plenty of friendly countries nearby that would be ecstatic at the thought of all the monies flowing into their coffers at such a move.

Kurds are in Syria to get away from him. They came in…what, 20 years ago?, took the land from Assyrians (who trace their heritage to the Biblical people, most of whom now are Christians). Kurds are nearly as much of a repressive entity to the rightful owners of the land as Erdogan is toward them, though they haven’t participated in mass murder. What predominantly Arab or Muslim country in the Middle East is not a mess? It’s so bloody tiresome having to clean things up for them.

Erdogan, however, is in a class by himself, not being Arab or Persian. He’s barely better than Assad. Even though they are all Muslims with a similar repressive and murderous frame of mind that is the antithesis of the liberty-loving, reason-inclined, non-repressive American, they can’t get along and kill each other with glee in search of those 72 virgins. It would be so terrific if we could wash our hands of the whole region. Not going to happen, I know, so it’s sorta useless to even wish it.

Big problem is the Mideast is more tribal than national . The Allies at the end of WWI decided to make management easier for them by creating borders for people with a rudimentary, at best, concept of nationality. Trying to stuff ten pounds of mixed tribal/religion Mideasterners into a 5 pound bordered country doesn’t work any better than it does with the conventional blivet.

I’ve always favored a more traditional method: let ’em all fight it out and the winners take all. We keep on trying to force peoples into our concept of delineated spaces when they have their own methods of determining space.

Erdogan will never be anything but an enemy of freedom and America.

Turkey’s Erdogan renews threat to flood EU with millions of Muslim migrants
    NOV 13, 2019 1:00 PM BY CHRISTINE DOUGLASS-WILLIAMS

“During a recent visit to Hungary, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan once again threatened to open the gates for Syrians to head to Europe in large numbers. President Erdogan made the comments during a meeting with Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban, saying that he would ‘open the gates’ to potentially millions of migrants if the international community did not provide Turkey with support and aid.”

I’d like to see both Trump and Erdogan share a joint and then hold a conference. Not a lot would get done but I’m betting the answers would more funnier.
