    Good morning everyone. I’m really doing well with my extra hour of sleep! Hope you guys fared better with your mornings.

    We went out yesterday t a layer of ice on the windshields. It’s cold here, but in a typical southern kind of way, we had to run the AC before the day was over. Of course, that was mostly just when the truck had been sitting in the sun, but still, it warmed up a lot.

      Not really the right spot but I wanted to show you my dishes Menagerie 🙂 . I found this on an online site since the white with the embossed flower/design really didn’t show up well when I tried to take a picture of my actual plates.

      I really like them, I’ve had them about 4 years and haven’t broken any but I still don’t think I believe the “shatterproof” guaranty. They don’t take up much space in a cabinet because they’re so thin.

      They also nicely showcase food since there isn’t any contrasting or competing colors on them. <<Ok if that comment marks me as an OCD weirdo the moniker is well taken 🙂 .

        Those dishes are beautiful. Kinda elegant, too, without being fussy.

        I had some Corelle that I had for years. There was linoleum tile on my kitchen floor. Dropped dishes all the time and they never broke. UNTIL, we changed the floor to ceramic tile and a plate when dropped………….didn’t break…………..it turned to dust. I don’t believe there was a piece over an inch in diameter and most was just dust.

          Wow! I’ve dropped them on my hardwood floors and so far so good, but I do believe if they dropped on ceramic tile that they would shatter.

          I agree on your assessment, a bit elegant but not fussy, great for any food really, the one thing my daughter doesn’t like about them is she wishes that the bowls were bigger, I’m fine with the size of the bowls, perfect for soup or salad and they can always be refilled.

    Good commentary on today’s gospel reading. I really enjoyed this one.

    THIRTY-FIRST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
    LUKE 19:1-10
    Friends, today’s Gospel declares in the story of Zacchaeus how quickly God responds to any sign of faith. Zacchaeus’ climbing the sycamore tree shows he had more than a passing interest in seeing Jesus. He had a deep hunger of the spirit. His principal virtue was his willingness to go to great extremes. But this is what we do when we know that something of great moment is at stake. When our health is endangered, we move, we act; when our job is threatened, we go to almost any extreme to keep it.

    When Jesus spotted him, he said, “Zacchaeus, hurry down. I mean to stay at your house today.” Christians, God responds to us readily when we show the least interest in him. He doesn’t play hard to get; he is not coy with us. When we seek him, he responds, because loving us is his entire game.

    Notice how Jesus tells Zacchaeus to hurry. Don’t wait, don’t hesitate. Seize the moment of conversion when it comes.

    Wow. I don’t know what is going on, but I tried to reply to my DIL and it won’t work. So, I finally, after about 8 tries, decided to just write a new email. Nope, won’t let me do that. :\ First time this has ever happened.

      As an eater of native kimchee in all of its gas producing glory I just can’t see it without the fish sauce, fermented shrimp, squid, sardines or whatever giving it the ‘taste’. I mean, you could have an entire debate as to whether the bacteria that ferments it are animal or vegetable. Leave my kimchee alone!

    Then there’s the bad news story about an unfinished portion of the government’s wall being breached already, both by folks going over the 3-story top and by simply cutting a car-sized hole in it. If we had enough border agents, the invaders wouldn’t have enough time to cut through…apparently it takes about an hour. The President says once the electronics are in place, anyone trying to breach the wall will set off alarms within the border patrol center.

    Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

    Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
