Interesting.
To me anyhow 🙂 .
These red flowers are in an outdoor planter outside a small local business in Waukesha. I thought at first a kid had sprinkled a red slushy all around them but no the red coloring on the snow actuating comes from the flowers. There is a second planter and the red is all over it also.
One of the nice things about living in a smaller community. I forgot my readers so the shop owner let me use his. I whined about having to go get a padded envelope so the other shop owner found one for me and covered the previous address already on it with a large white sticker and I didn’t have to run to yet another store 🙂 !

LTC Jim Hickman: I know LTC Alex Vindman from a Combined US-Russian exercise called Atlas Vision 12 in Grafenwoher, GE. He worked w/the Russian Embassy & I was assigned to the JMTC (Joint Multinational Training Command), w/in USAREUR (US Army Europe). He worked coordination w/the Russian 15th Peacekeeping Brigade, & I was in charge of all Simulations planning, as well as assisting the USAREUR Lead Planner as the Senior Military Planner. The following account of LTC Vindman’s words & actions are completely accurate to the best of my recollection & have been corroborated by others.
We interacted on several different occasions throughout the planning cycle, but it was during the actual execution of the exercise, that we had an issue relevant to his recent testimony. As stated earlier, Atlas Vision 12 was conducted at JMTC in the VBS2 (Virtual Battle Simulations 2) Classrooms for Simulation. Vindman, who was a Major at the time, was sitting in one of the classrooms talking to the US and Russian Soldiers, as well as the young Officers & GS Employees about America, Russia, & Obama. He was apologetic of American culture, laughed about Americans not being educated or worldly, & really talked up Obama & globalism to the point of uncomfortable. He would speak w/the Russian Soldiers & laugh as if at the expense of the US personnel.
It was so uncomfortable & unprofessional, one of the GS employees came & told me everything above. I walked over & sat w/in earshot of Vindman, & sure enough, all was confirmed.
One comment truly struck me as odd, & it was w/respect to American’s falsely thinking they’re exceptional, when he said, “He [Obama] is working on that now.” And he said it w/a snide ‘I know a secret’ look on his face. I honestly don’t know what it meant, it just sounded like an odd thing to say.
Regardless, after hearing him bash America a few times in front of subordinates, Russians, & GS Employees, as well as, hearing an earful about globalization, Obama’s plan, etc…I’d had enough. I tapped him on the shoulder & asked him to step outside. At that point I verbally reprimanded him for his actions, & I’ll leave it at that, so as not to be unprofessional myself. The bottom-line is LTC Vindman was a partisan Democrat at least as far back as 2012. So much so, junior officers & soldiers felt uncomfortable around him. This is not your professional, field-grade officer, who has the character & integrity to do the right thing. Do not let the uniform fool you…he is a political activist in uniform. I pray our nation will drop this hate, vitriol & division, & unite as our founding fathers intended!

There’s a whole parcel of officers from the Clinton era that were polished under the Obama era who are less than American. I’;d posted on this in the past and they’ve managed to create roitton spots in the military. Next thing you’re going to hear about is the Chinese influence in the US military and defense industry.
BTW, these ‘joint’ exercises, whether US-Russian, US-Chinese or Russian-Chinese are basically joint intelligence gathering operations.

Yeah, I slogged thru the Clinton offer corps, I managed to stay alive by staying in areas the brass didn’t want to cut and working in ‘joint’ commands where the Army didn’t care about body counts.
It cost me a promotion as empty slots were cut and count as ‘bodies’ and … let’s say that in the shrinking pool I didn’t meet certain n on-skill requirements.

Mmm. Soon. Cooking again is one of the first things I look forward to in the new house. We spent all day buying furniture for it. I guess I’d better buy dishes too, since I have all of them away too. I think I am going to do what Stella did and go with Crate and Barrel white dishes. The Aspen ones got really good reviews.

In the cabin I had a few nice antiques, and I tried to stay away from log cabin rustic, but things were kind of in line with the antiques, and fit in the cabin. The new house is brighter and more open, so I’m trying to keep it that way. Minimal, but not minimalist, on furniture and accessories.
I want simple and easy to care for, and just as I avoided the cabin look before, I’m trying to avoid the more popular looks in style today, and just have a look that fits and won’t go out of style.
My husband did pick out a black dining room set, as well as a black bed and nightstands, so I’m hoping that it will provide a little pop, and not be too dark. We did have a lot of fun. I think it surprised him that he enjoyed it, and it surprised me that his taste and instincts are quite good. He used to like the Beaver Cleaver’s house look. 😀
I wish you would post a picture of those dishes, they sound simple and perfect.

Sounds lovely! I’m a minimalist, I like things simple. Black is always a good choice, my friend has a lacquered black bedroom set which is beautiful, (it’s shiny like a well polished grand piano) the only down side is she has to dust it almost daily.
I’ll post a picture of my plates later today or tomorrow, down at mum’s house for the weekend. They’re very simple, supposed to be shatterproof but I have my doubts.
