Coming soon to a place near you: New York City’s homeless!!!!!

City of Metairie (it’s not really a city but that’s irrelevant) just got a shock, it discovered that New York City has dumped some of its homeless there. Seems NYC’s rounded up homeless volunteers, got ’em one-way tickets to places as far away as Hawaii, given ’em a year’s rent and waved bye-bye to them.

Also appears that NY didn’t tell the cities they were sending them to that they was acomin’. The bus/plane/train arrives, the newly emigrated step off and…do what they do. The receiving city is unaware until the new arrivals hit some speed bump and come to the state’s attention.

NYC admits they do it, is totally unapologetic, says they’ve been doing it for years and suggests that all they’re doing is helping people who can’t find jobs to move to where they can find a cheaper place to live. No word on why these folks are homeless, no word on their criminal backgrounds, no word on their drug or alcohol or mental problems, just …silence…

All considered the ones that NYC may have shipped into NOLA itself are lost in the milling herd of downtown homeless drawn to the drugs, booze and party life here. The city sucking workers dry to fund the homeless housing program has a draw too but as we’re already a sanctuary city we wonder if the Big Apple rebranding their problems as our problems isn’t going to cause more fiscal issues. The city’s already drafting new taxes that will be passed off to tourists as there was almost a public revolt (Saint’s started winning and public attention shifted) over the latest property tax increases but as the city government’s infrastructure plans and public largesse continue to grow we’re the only sheep left to shear.

The small town I left had unbelievably high taxes, and I wasn’t in the city. Which isn’t really a city either. And every time you look d over your shoulder they were coming after you again.

Georgia is a tax rip off state. I never bought a new car while I lived there. Taxes would have probably payed for a decent used car to go with it. I bought a used car and kept it the whole time. And last year when I bought tags for it, a 2005 Toyota, they were still about three times what I used to pay in Chattanooga.

Downside to Chattanooga is the emissions crap you have to pass.

Ahhhhh….Chattanooga, many years ago I bought my cases of pint bottles of ’10 High’ to bootleg at the barn and National Guard Armory dances from Sand Mountain to Mentone to Rome, Georgia. I repeat myself but that was one of the best times of my life.

So far we’re OK out here on taxes, Mississippi taxes our cars by age and the county taxes our bigger house here less than NOLA does our much smaller house there. All of our property except thne 2 acres the house sits on is taxed as farm land – we pay less on our farm acreage than we do on our less-than-quarter-acre in NOLA- and we get better police response here too.

Georgia ad valorem taxes would have added a couple thousand dollars to the price of a new car for me. I will probably get one in the next 6 months to a year, but I sure wasn’t about to give Georgia one more red cent.

          https://www.sapling.com/6723236/calculate-valorem-tax-georgia-vehicles

After we pay our 2019 taxes I am quit with owing that state thousands and thousands of dollars. ANd the taxes on the house we are buying (please God let this deal close!!!!!) are over $300 a year cheaper than in the cabin. The house is in city limits and is about the same value as the cabin was. However, my mortgage lady did tell me she was sure sooner or later the tax goons would come for us, that she thought it was low.

The county commissioners in the county I left are mostly little desots, and they actually just passed a rule that if you want to talk to them at commission meeting you have to submit a written request to them prior to the meeting detailing what you want to ask about. They can grant or deny permission. Lynch mob was forming as I left town. Most of them, especially the crooked, arrogant weasel who is the chairman will not make it through the next election, so I am pretty sure they are busy sucking out everything they can before being ousted.

Does Texas really want all those lefties fleeing from the mess they’ve created? If they arrive, tell them that unless they repent of their leftism, they have to be segregated from the sane Texans…say, somewhere out in the Chisos Mountains…

It’s getting into the 70s here today, but rain all day, and a cold front is coming. Going to be 33 tomorrow night, they say. Might have to turn on the heat. We’ve had the AC in the hotel on 60 since we got here. If we actually used the kitchen to cook this place would have been an oven during all the late heat. It sure isn’t anywhere near 60, probably in the 70s.

Yesterday, my friend and I ate lunch at a restaurant. The waitress was very sweet and stopped to talk to us since it wasn’t busy at the time. She wanted to know if we had ever been to Colorado. She said she was going there in Dec. to see a friend and thought there might be snow. We started asking her if she had a coat…long underwear…..a scarf…….a hat……maybe a vest……..gloves……..boots, etc. She wanted to know if we really thought she might need that. SMH A real Floridian.

Yesterday Denver (and much of the state) was covered in blizzard conditions with the snow piling up quickly.

Several years ago my husband and I were there over Christmas. Heavy snowfall/blizzard came through and lingered. Not even the main streets were cleared for about two days. Denver does not have the equipment to keep up with heavy snow events. They don’t actually come that often (and not repeatedly like further north) so the investment is prohibitive. But anyone who doesn’t have four wheel drive is going to be staying home for a few days when one of those systems comes through.

It was obvious that this sweet girl had no idea what cold is. When it is 32* in FL, that usually means in the middle of the night and it warms WAY up when the sun comes out. So, a Floridian will put on a coat, or sweatshirt, socks under their sandals and run to their car. They don’t realize that doesn’t work up North.

Michael Baden, ex-chief medical examiner for New York city, has stated that Epstein’s death reek more of homicide than scented of suicide. He’s stated that he’s never seen the marks reported on the official autopsy as occurring in a hanging, they are most evident in a manual strangulation.

Going to start a beer pool on how long it will take for Dr Baden to be found suicided in his garage.

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

A prayer for Justice Kavanaugh and Gen. Flynn:

    Prayer to St. Michael

    St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle;
be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
    May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do you, O prince of the heavenly host,
    by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits
who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
