LOL That last one reminds me of my dogs I used to have. The biggest, a really large lab who was the alpha male hated raw carrots. Every once in a while I would throw a piece down and he would grab it and eat it just to keep it away from the other doggies. His face always looked so funny when he did that since he hated the taste.

That one, who weighed 110 lbs, and a smaller dog who weighed 46 lbs. and considered herself some sort of alpha female, were prepared to fight to the death (I believe) over a piece of popcorn that fell on the floor once. 🙄

Went to pick up the cat today (dog part’s coming) and when I got to the vets there was a guy outside with 3 nice greyhounds. I went over and sure enough, they’re track dog rescues, really nice dogs. He tried to get me to take one…or more…but with a small Speedy Gonzales dog, a hound/lab mix who likes to run and the old dog that doesn’t realize she’s too old to run, that wouldn’t work.
If that dog ever got loose and there was the usual possum (gettin’ to that too), coon, rabbit deer or whatever – zoom – it’d be gone. Once you’re track you can’t go back.
Now the possum. Took the terriorist out for her good-night run and my headlight caught the glow of a set of possum eyes at the base of one of our persimmon trees. Possum didn’t run, just sat up and stared at me and the vibrating dog, almost as if it knew Chez has doggy ADHD and was no threat. Possums haven’t given me a glance in ten years so I’m guessing the ones we hand-fed fed the American cheese to (it’s OK, they’re carrion eaters) must have talked. Possum just ambled up the tree and went about scouting out overripe persimmons.

Yeah, he looks like a real killer. Actually my childhood friend had a doxxy who bit me and drew blood 3 times, I was under 6 and every time it was my fault.

Being lovey and cuddly is about the only way those devil sausage dogs can get a good nip at you.

I was fascinated with Punchinello’s ears and he’d normally let me pet them but some days he was just like “Not today Lovely” and chomp. Always a small puncture wound. He probably bit me 5 times.
Washed my hands put on a bandaid and went about my day of being a kid.
