      Good morning, Nyet! I’m definitely ready to eat some eggs, bacon and a few potato patties. Have to gain strength to tour St. Petersburg…the second largest city and the cultural center of Russia. Specifically I’m going to see the incredible Kazan Cathedral…

      Breakfast. Gotta eat quickly this today. Have to take my car in to get fixed. The driver’s side window hasn’t worked for a year, but was too expensive to fix. Now, not only has the air conditioner fan system in the dash being wonky, but the air conditioner itself seems to have died. Too hot still for all three to broken. It is going to cost a small fortune to fix. ๐Ÿ™„ Mornin’ Nyet, everyone. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

          Actually, went pretty well. It turned out that instead of the air conditioner, it was the fan that they had replaced just a month or so ago. It failed. Still under warranty so no charge for the part or labor. The window did cost, but not as much as I feared. The only real expense is the replacement of the part in the vents and they won’t know what it is until they take the whole dash apart. ๐Ÿ™„ But, even that will be less than they said it could be. Also, they are having a special on Thursday, and he said if he can keep it until then, he can give me 15% off because there is a special family thing that day. ๐Ÿ™„ So, what I thought would be over $2500 is going to be less than $1000.

    BTW, a whole truckload of comments next door about the fake ABC news report on the ‘Syrian slaughter’. I do believe I’d mentioned a day or so after the issue of Trump recalling the troop[s and the Turks ramping up that the media would have pictures of distraught mothers and crying children and wanton death/destruction – and I do believe I’d said some might be made up.

    This isn’t new, most reporters don’t want to get farther from the bar and A/C, it was almost a running joke in Saigon. The networks pull stock footage from file – as they don’t recognize the scene (and they’re so superior to the masses) they don’t think anyone else will too. Their usual excuse is it’s just used as a filler to compliment the narrative, it’s illustrative. BS.

    85 outside but a light breeze takes the edge off of it. Was outside with Daisy, the old Border Collie mix…she ambled her ample self down to the lake, rolled around in the grass and pine needles then just layed there in her sphinx position letting the soft north wind run into her face-on. Summer definitely isn’t her time.

    First lawsuits on the Hard Rock Hotel collapse were filed today, parties injured by debris. Didn’t take long but then it’s NOLA and a major source of income is suing people, hence our ridiculously high insurance rates. If you see any videos of what looks like vultures flying around the building they’re not buzzards – the city’;s established a no-go zone around the building site and the images are probably just tort lawyers trying to gin up clients.

    The lone missing employee still in/on/under the building was identified, they held off giving out his identity possibly as he’s a Mexican national. No indication that he’s here on a green card and questions as to if he is legal are rebuffed with varying degrees of high dudgeon. Either way some family in Mexico ios being stalked by local tort lawyers promising a jackpot.

    Latest bit of into was that an hour or so before the collapse began a swimming pool was airlifted to the top of the building. There’s no indication that the pool had anything to do with the collapse but the news is putting it out there sorta like you would raw chum to the sharks. Other issue is that one of he two cranes left standing is a bit leany and moved about an in today meaning it ain’t stable. We have rainstorms moving in tonite and that might bring wind gusts to further destabilize the crane.
