    Good morning everyone. I took a day off yesterday, first in a long while, and went down to Prater’s Mill festival, near Dalton, GA. Had a great time. There is some old people’s club or organization that cooks in an old (late 1800s era) country store. I had ham hock, sweet potatoes, dressing, cornbread salad and fried cornbread. Whoowee, it was fine.

    About 20 plus or minus years ago I first tried cornbread salad at this very festival. I had never heard of it. I looked for recipes and taught myself to make it. Every year it is quite different from the year before but still very good. Lots of cooks give it a twist. If you’ve never tried this out, it is worth your time, and a perfect side to go with some leftover ham.

    Happy Monday, and back to the grindstone!

      You’ve got my mouth watering! We sure do have some good food here in Georgia! They had the “Mule Camp Festival” in Gainesville, I think last weekend. They always have a little hut set up making beans and cornbread over an open fire. Our cuisine is very country, but we know how to survive in hard times, lol.

    Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
