It’s Doggityday!

Our old Daisy may be getting doggie dementia. She’s vocalizing at the other dogs/cats and last night she attacked the youngest dog who she was just playing with earlier. I’ve got her on curcumin, fish oil and I’ll have SAMe tomorrow, may have to see what people drugs we can use on her.

Poor old gal! Usually that is a sign of some kind of pain. I hope you can find out what it is and find out what kind of help she may need. Borders can be so weird!

She has arthritis and she;’s on Rimadyl and curcumin but all we can do is wait and see.

Gabapenten can sometimes “boost” the Rimadyl. Hope y’all find something that helps her! It’s so tough when our beloved furry children grow old.

Thanks, I’ll bookmark that. As I said elsewhere the 95% standardized curcumin sdhe’s on is working wonders. I’m trying to ease the Rimadyl due to side effects.
I’ve been taking a 95% standardized curcumin I found in a NIJ report and I’m amazed how well it worked. Before I took it I was on acetaminophen 3 or 4 hits a day, now I’m down to once before bed mostly as a ‘just in case’. NIJ also talks about how it seems to address the problems with capillary damage and resultant neuropathy.

Sounds like something I could use as well. I’ve been on max daily doses of NSAIDs and acetaminophen for arthritis since the 1980s. Where do you get curcumin? I’ve never heard of it.

There’s few references and you can get the Meriva on Amazon. You may have some issues with…high motility…for a few days but even my gippr GERDy tummy wasn’t upsety

I’m really happy as all getout, I have OA in my fingers and one thumb, shoulders and my right knee is bone-on-bone…won’t even get into my wonderful Army back. After about two weeks the pain without NSAIDs, just using curcumin, is about 90% gone and I can work outside much longer with less downtime. Ain’t gonna say it’ll work for you but for about $20/month it ain’t gonna hurt to try. You should start to feel it, if it works, within a week.

CBD oil? Calming effect? Perhaps worth a try. Sorry Czar and Czarina, that is a rough thing to deal with, especially with having the other critters.

I have several friends using it on their old dogs who say it helps.

My little gal is still rather hyper, I haven’t thought of trying it on her until Czar posted about Daisy. I may try it this weekend.
Good to see you Tundra 🙂 !

I’m going to try the SAMe for a month or so. The curcumin she’;s been on for about a week has been helping greatly with the pain, she’s moving much much better.
As an aside I’ve been taking it foe about the same period of time and it’s working super, I only take an NSAID once a day.

I take some at night and use the balm on my neck, so far good results.

I was looking at it but if I take any more stuff that increases serotonin I’ll be starring in the next Joker movie.

Where I live there are also deer, bunny, bear, possum and fox turds to avoid!

If you’re a deer hunter, you likely already know the truth of this. Yes, it’s from the Internet and it’s either accurate or not…but I read that if you’re out for a walk and see the small round pellets of deer scat in a tight clump, that’s from a buck. If it’s sort of spaced out, that’s a doe.

The thing is, WeeWeed, you’ll always know where it is because you WILL step in it. LOL!

Take a dog with you. S/he will sniff it out. Never step where the dog sniffs eagerly….
