    Here we are, almost ready to complete the first 20% of the 21st century and I’m communicating with Microsoft by snail mail. OK, not ‘communicating’ per se, more like venting.

    I was a DOS-basic user in the early 80s back when you could steal it from your office machine on a huge 6×6 floppy disc and install it on your homemade 20-meg hard drive 86-based system. Now you can’t even ‘own’ Office, you lease it from MS with the distinct possibility that by doing so Microsoft has access to everything you process on your Office system. Now I’m grinding my teeth using Google Chrome.

    Anyway, I have Windows 10 on my desktop but duer to our limited download abilities I can’t connect it to the internet. Issue is I use it offline as a word processor and a few other limited functions. If that Word 2013 crashes and I have to reload it how do I do so without having to go back online to register? They no longer support it so is there a workaround or do I just bite the bullet and go to one of the free online Office alternative products?

    The letter to Microsoft is just an escape valve, we’re part of that estimated 10% who live outside of the mainline internet system and as huge as MS is they can afford to step over/around us, our inclusion wouldn’t effect corporate bottomline one way or the other. Then again NOT being shackled by reliance on Microsoft does have advantages.

    Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

    Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
