YW, Ad rem! I love looking things up and have all the time in the world…LOL! Just read an article about how you should never wash your face in the shower…too drying…whoops, I’ve been doing that since February 1963 when I got my first place by myself.

I was 40 before I knew you are supposed to shave down with a razor, always shaved my legs pulling the razor up. Who knew? Not me.

I never had heard that. But, anyway, now I use one of those pen shaped razors that are for you face because the hair on my legs is so fine now. I have tried all kinds of raors and that is the only one that works. LOL

Yep, apparently you get a closer shave if you pull the blade down along your leg rather than up.

We used to have a couple of ducks and ate their eggs. They seemed much stronger tasting than a chicken egg. I thought they were fine in an omelette with vegies and cheese, though.

Amaranth is pseudograin, a small seed, like poppy seed, that was the staple of the Mayans and Incas.
I’ve been experimenting with a one pound bag. It is pleasantly earthy and fragrant.
For breakfast this morning, I put 2 1/2 tablespoons each of amaranth and cornmeal with 1/4 teaspoon salt, half teaspoon brown sugar into a lidded saucepan with 1 1/2 cups of water, put it on the stove, and stirred continuously until it came to a boil, then covered it and let it sit five minutes. I then thought to add powdered thyme, cumin, and turmeric to complement the earthiness, and a hint of cloves. Stirred in a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, and it was very nice, a pleasant savory change from oatmeal or farina with their typical milk, sugar, and cinnamon.

I had a very busy last two weeks and we had a huge amount of rain. I noticed the neighbor’s handyman mowing their lawn so I asked him if he could mow my lawn, he said sure, “$25.00” the last guy charged me $40. so I gave him a $5.00 tip and enjoyed my day 🙂 !
