    Beto, et al, have been talking about a Federal law that would allow them to confiscate guns – it’s a Federal law and it means the subordinate states MUST conform.

    OK, we also have Federal laws that forbid the possession and sale of marijuana and, if I remember correctly, 11 states have legalized its recreational use…and the Feds aren’t arresting anyone.

    We have Federal laws making illegal immigration illegal but states have not only refused to help the Feds but actively hinder them and illegally grant illegals sanctuary.

    What makes the Fedfs think that the nearly 30 states with laws protecting their citizen’s ownership of firearms in the face of Federal confiscation will comply?

      Then there is that pesky 2nd amendment. I read somewhere recently that Connecticut, at one time, required their male citizens to possess a firearm and ammunition.

        And at one time CT was the young nation’s largest slave owner too.

        There’s a mountain of contemporary writing by and about each Amendment, and I believe most of the Founders directly addressed the 2bd as being necessary for the citizen to protect (insert post-modern gender pronoun here) from a government gone tyrannical.

        For a while the Lefties just argued the wording but now they just say they’ll get rid of it as they modify the Bill into something more fitting to their needs.

    I went to see A D Astra yesterday. I have to admit it was not my type of movie and so everything I say has to be understood with that in mind. I have never actually been a huge Brad Pitt fan. But I am a really big Tommy Lee Jones fan. They started the movie off with this guy played by Pitt. They really didn’t give me any reason to care much about him. Maybe that was supposed to happen as the movie went on. It didn’t. I, however, was waiting with baited breath for Tommy Lee Jones to appear. He finally did, and I was happy at that.

    The story was hard for me to follow. The scenes of space, etc, were interesting, but waaayyyyyy too long. I napped at times during these long scenes. In fact, I kept hoping my friend would want to leave…………but, she never did. I did not care for the way the movie was shot. Faraway scenes of spacey things……….and unbelievable close ups of Pitt’s pores. In fact, I believe it was about half and half faraway vs. extreme closeups. I kept wondering if those bags under his eyes were really his or put there for some reason for the character. :\ Jones looked really old, but of course he is. Wait a minute, he is only two days, two days, older than me. He was also born in Texas. How about that. Gee, maybe they made him up to look older. I don’t think I look that old. But, I digress.

    I would suggest reading the book, or at lease a synopsis of the story before seeing it. Actually, I wouldn’t recommend it at all. But, feel free to write a rebuttal.

    Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
