Is an ex-hippy libertarian the guy who will blow up the Deep State?

Patrick Byrne, the mercurial CEO of Overstock.com, says that he is taking a leave of absence.

Yesterday a corporate CEO quit his job at the company he founded. His name is Patrick Byrne, and the company is Overstock.com. The next thing he did was to appear on Fox News, Fox Business and CNN to tell the world the reason why. Two things are amazing about this story:

  • He said that he is disclosing this information because Warren Buffett advised him to do so; that’s probably because his life may be in danger BECAUSE of the nature of the information;
  • The information itself, which is tied up with the Russia, Russia, Russia investigation and the involvement of the FBI and others to meddle in the 2016 election by creating a bomb to blow up the Trump campaign/administration.

Sara Carter first broke the story last month:

If what you already know about the FBI’s investigation into President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia has you wondering what can come next, “make sure you are sitting down because it’s about to get worse,” said Patrick Byrne, the philanthropist and CEO of the mega online retail chain Overstock.com.

Byrne revealed never published details about his intimate relationship with the Russian gun right’s activist and libertarian, Maria Butina, who is now serving out her sentence after pleading guilty in 2018 to working as a foreign agent in the U.S. without registering.

In an interview several weeks ago, Byrne recounted first meeting Butina at Freedom Fest 2015. He described the relationship that developed between the two and revealed that he had initiated contact in July, 2015 with the FBI after his first meeting with Butina. He also disclosed that he met twice with Justice Department attorneys in April, 2019 giving a total of seven hours of interviews on the separate occasions. A source directly familiar with the interviews, confirmed those meetings took place.

Familiar with the possible backlash he will face, he made the decision to go public after speaking to his mentor and longtime friend billionaire Warren Buffet, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. Buffet, whom Byrne describes as his ‘Rabbi,’ sent SaraACarter.com a statement Tuesday night confirming his meeting with Byrne at his home in Omaha, Nebraska several weeks ago.

“I’ve known Patrick and his family for more than 40 years,” Buffet said in an email to this reporter. “His father, Jack Byrne, saved GEICO in 1976 and I met his three boys when they were teenagers. Both Mark, the middle son, and Patrick, the youngest, worked for Berkshire Hathaway. Patrick helped the company without pay in solving a difficult business problem. Patrick is very intelligent and patriotic. He comes by Omaha periodically to see me. At the most recent visit – a few weeks ago – though I know nothing about the subject he was describing, I told him to follow his conscience.”

Here are a couple of the videos. Decide for yourself about the truth of his claims. I’m interested to hear your evaluation of the man, of his story, and what you think may happen as a result of  his disclosures.

I’ll take Buffet at his word here; “At the most recent visit – a few weeks ago – though I know nothing about the subject he was describing, I told him to follow his conscience.”

I’m very hesitant to put any hope in Byrne.

He is in my opinion more likely having a bit of a breakdown.

I watched the entire interview in which Byrne was wildly incoherent, was moving around like a drug addict (not suggesting in any way the he is on drugs in fact I would bet that he is not) but he was agitated and moving strangely.

My guess (educated) is Byrne has a very high IQ and makes correlations in his head. Constantly. Normally people who are very bright do this and can step back, it seems Byrne is having trouble stepping back.

Everything Byrne said was bits and pieces of theories and facts that are already in the public domain. He wove himself into the tapestry that we are already aware of. This is a way of making the story more believable, you insert “I”.

There is a very good chance some of what he said he has personally experienced to some degree, not likely that he was recruited in the way he claims and remained rouge the entire time without having an accident with a sharp object.

No one high up in the Party of the Cabal is going to bring in someone and hope for the best, that simply isn’t how it works.

As to Byrne’s demeanor and incoherence being caused by the stress of being in fear for his life I’m going to say that simply can’t fit with his pattern of life. If things unfolded in the way we can most objectively interpret Byrne’s interview then we have to assume that Byrne who is capable of being CEO of Overstock.com has the awareness and discipline to build things the right way.

If what he said was true, the way he did this is 100% wrong. He would have to know that this was not the way to structure his defense against the Deep State.

All this interview did was paint a target square on his forehead, I can’t believe that if Byrne was operating under full capacity that this is the way he would protect himself. Would he really be worried about making sure people knew he conducted himself as a gentleman?

Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne Used To Hate Donald Trump. Now, He’s Kind of a Fan.

Why did a leading businessman go from calling Donald Trump “a national disgrace” to saying he’s doing a good job?

    *******

Fredo has lost what ever he had left of his mind.

But he may be more coherent than Byrne.

I had to stop listening to the Cumo interview. Sad.

I couldn’t listen to all of the Cuomo interview either. I’m keeping an open mind on Byrne. Yeah, he’s a hippy who doesn’t come off well on camera, but his background doesn’t say “flake” or “nut”, just different.

Apparently Byrne has a website but I can’t find it. (Haven’t tried too hard). But it is supposedly filled with conspiracy theories.

Buffett says he has no knowledge of what Byrne is talking about.

But for me Byrne’s words giveaway his thought process, he is drawing conclusions and filling in holes with what he thinks “must be” and isn’t relying on first hand knowledge or facts, (though I’m sure that he thinks that he is)…

“The issue is, I realized that these orders I got came from Peter Strzok, and as I put together things, I know much more than I should know and tried to keep silent,” he said. “This country has gone nuts, and especially for the last year when I realized what I know, every time I see one of these things, somebody drives 600 miles to gun down 20 strangers in the mall, I guess I feel a bit responsible.”

I think he is having a bit of a breakdown.

That doesn’t mean that the bulk of what he says about the whole process isn’t true, it simply means that a) he doesn’t have as much first hand knowledge as he thinks he has and b) the conclusions he has drawn are speculation.

I caught his interview with Martha last night. I started to turn the channel, but was curious about what he was saying. It all sounds fantastic and unbelievable. And, he did seem incoherent at times, but then, sometimes I have trouble following President Trump. Some people just think so far ahead it is hard to keep up. This is the kind of thing I would just brush aside and ignore as ridiculous, but after the eight years of Obama, and all that has come out about the FBI, CIA, IRS, etc. in the last two years, it is hard to dismiss anything. Awaiting more info.
