Good morning and happy weekend!
So, did any of y’all know that chow mein sandwiches are a thing? I stumbled across a mention of people raising thousands of dollars for a church selling these. Turns out it is a big thing in Falmouth, Massachusetts and there is even a factory that makes the special crispy noodles. Who knew? If I ever go there I’ll try one.

Being curious, I found the noodles for sale on Amazon but I’m not buying more stuff when we are in the middle of getting rid of everything. They only came packaged in four or six boxes.

Glad I didn’t order them. Have you had the sandwich, which just looks like chow mein with a bun plopped on it? I think the article said they raised $7500 bucks. Those people must love it.

We make nest cookies with chow mein noodles and melted white chocolate. ( https://www.food.com/recipe/icebergs-white-chocolate-and-noodle-cookies-337909 ). Only we never put peanuts in and sprinkled we bit of salt on each before hadened.

We used to make those with regular chocolate. I wouldn’t dare make a batch now………………I am afraid I would eat the whole thing before dinner. 🙄

Another fav was peanut butter between two Ritz crackers then dip that completely in white chocolate. Oh my.

I made some with a friend one time. She put butterscotch chips in with chocolate. I had not known that I liked butterscotch until then.

So glad I stopped by (a couple of days late, but better late than never). That is an EXCELLENT breakfast. I particularly like how the bacon is elegantly draped over the scrambled eggs. Of course, the extra side of bacon is always appreciated. I will skip those carb-things in the third photo.

I just ordered a dehydrator (fairly inexpensive Nesco). Has anyone dehydrated food, and what recommendations do you have for me?

Stella, mostly jerky but good for fruits too! If you puree the fruit, you can make ur own fruit rollups!

Doesn’t mean Sharon do a lot of that? She was really into it a couple years ago I think and once posted which dehydrator she had. Maybe you should ask her.
A few years ago I did a crap to. Of strawberries, just in my convection oven. I worked and worked and worked on those berries. When they were dried I had a quart bag. Less actually. I’ve never done anything else.

I forgot to say that those suckers were so good it was almost worth all the work. My husband and I started eating them and finished the whole batch in a couple of minutes IIRC.

Popping in here! – yes – I got a dehydrator a couple years ago and I think the best thing I enjoy from it is the slices of apple and also diced apples dried, with a bit of cinnamon and brown sugar (to be thrown in with oatmeal, etc)…..
I have tried some other items also but make the best use of all kinds of apple cuttings and dryings…..
The brand of mine is Rosewill.
I did also dry celery and froze it, so it’s ready to pop into soups, etc.

Had friends who dehydrated 50# of onions, lots of tomatoes, and fruit pulp into fruit roll ups. Very thrifty!
