In a strong reminder of the days immediately following the 2016 Presidential election here in the United States, some in the press are losing their minds over the election of Boris Johnson as Britain’s Prime Minister. Even the headlines are recycled. One example from the New York Times, Boris Johnson Is How Britain Ends:
Boris Johnson, to whom lying comes as easily as breathing, is on the verge of becoming prime minister. He faces the most complex and intractable political crisis to affect Britain since 1945.
That should be concerning enough. But given Britain’s political system — which relies for its maintenance on the character and disposition of the prime minister — it carries even graver import. Mr. Johnson, whose laziness is proverbial and opportunism legendary, is a man well-practiced in deceit, a pander willing to tickle the prejudices of his audience for easy gain. His personal life is incontinent, his public record inconsequential.
And his premiership could bring about the end of Britain itself.
Sound familiar?
If you want to read the rest of the Op-Ed, it is republished at MSN. It includes some old favorites about how Boris wanted to be King of the World when he was a child, and wrote some politically incorrect opinions back in the 1990’s. He also favors tax cuts and bankers, has no principles, and hates those who present him with “facts”.
Of course, the author’s primary concern is Brexit. Boris is for it (along with the majority of Brits), and the author isn’t.
As Boris promised in his first speech of Prime Minister, Britain will leave the EU on October 31, “no ifs or buts”. As Time reports:
Standing outside the shiny black door of 10 Downing St., Johnson said that “after three years of unfounded self-doubt, it is time to change the record.”
He derided “he doubters, the doomsters, the gloomsters” who believe the ebullient but chaotic Johnson cannot succeed in breaking the Brexit impasse that defeated his predecessor, Theresa May.

I think BJ will do just fine! Of course the establishment can’t
stand him, but a lot of people really like him.

Looking forward to the first Fake News articles on how Boris surrounds himself with nothing but sycophants, and how his government is in total disarray.
Ought to be entertaining.
Could someone please leak the American ambassador’s emails on how bad Boris is?
