Something’s rotten in DC regarding the census citizenship question

You all saw President Trump’s tweet earlier that said that the government has not given up on adding citizenship questions to the 2020 census.

It appears on the face of it that there may have been some hanky panky in the Justice Department to cease pursuit of the citizenship questions on the upcoming census.

The following tweets/documents ask and answer some questions about what has happened in the past 24 hours.

What do you think?

TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS – TELEPHONE CONFERENCE BEFORE THE HONORABLE GEORGE JARROD HAZEL WEDNESDAY, JULY 3, 2019; 3:30 P.M. GREENBELT, MARYLAND

They are trying to get the citizenship question removed once and for all, despite the SCOTUS ruling. If the DOJ caves, it will be all over, but the POTUS has called them on it. That is what is happening.

(Plaintiff’s Counsel) MR. DURAISWAMY: Your Honor, I think it underscores, obviously, the need for a stipulated order, as we talked about yesterday, that makes clear not only that the Government is printing the questionnaire for the 2020 census without a citizenship question but that there will be no further effort to inquire about citizenship status as part of the 2020 census in any manner. We prepared a draft stipulated order that we’re prepared to send to the Government along those lines. I think it also suggests that we may need a further provision of that order that makes clear that the defendants will not communicate to the public anything to the contrary suggesting that the 2020 census is inquiring about citizenship status. And, further, that they will counter, publicly counter any such misinformation that comes from government officials. So we are working on a stipulated order to that effect.

He’s trying to have the judge make this stipulation. Somebody at DOJ is a rat working with the plaintiffs.

Took a SWAG next door, said it was a DOJ-initiated Fake News attempt to control Pres Trump and Sec Ross. Come here to find out that was pretty much it. Not bad for a SWAG, but really, these people are just too predictable.

Great work, Stella. Even next door did not have all this info. Detective Stells to our rescue!
