On this day in 1776, Continental Congress resolves “these United Colonies are & of right ought to be Free and Independent States.”

The political naysayer of the day, John Dickinson abstains from the votes that declare independence.

According to many – including John Adams – July 2 is our real Independence Day. According to the National Archives, July 2, 1776 is the day that the Continental Congress actually voted for independence. John Adams, in his writings, even noted that July 2 would be remembered in the annals of American history and would be marked with fireworks and celebrations. The written Declaration of Independence was dated July 4 but wasn’t actually signed until August 2. Fifty-six delegates eventually signed the document, although all were not present on that day in August.

    The rat-ingrate who knelt for our national anthem and flag, because of TDS 🙄, is injured and out completely for the semi final game of the women’s world cup 😎😂 👍🏽!!

    Hopefully she can still keep her date with Alexandria Cortez.

    The United States soccer team is in the semifinals and coming off a 2-1 win over France thanks to two goals by Rapinoe. Rapinoe also helped lead the USWNT to victories over Spain (2-1) in the round of 16 and over Group F opponents Thailand (13-0), Chile (3-0) and Sweden (2-0).

    Just in…oh, my the Navy Seal Special Operations Chief Edward Gallagher trial is basically finished with a “not guilty” verdict on all but the taking a photo with a dead body charge for which a sentence will be rendered shortly and will probably be time served while awaiting trial or a similar sentence.

    When McCarthy took over from Ryan, people thought “more of the same” but I don’t think that. He’s supportive of President Trump, Ryan phonied it up and pretended to support our President but actually undermined him. McCarthy doesn’t seem to be going down that disloyal road.

    Reading through to the end of the press release, imagine my shock when I read the durn kid is a Chancellor of something or other. Thankfully someone recognized him and added Vice to his name. WS should be investigated by Vice! Besides, the kid is too young to be chancellor anything – he only started shaving last week, iirc.

    What do you think about a new gubmint backbone? The first backbone worked really well, before some ID10T gave it away. Why not do it again? And design for security from the beginning this time, not as an afterthought like before.

    (no, WS’s name is not the same as mine – our story is worse and more convoluted than Stella’s)
