In a move that gives hope to the people of both South and North Korea, President Trump met with Kim Jong-Un at the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between the two Koreas today.
At approximately 3:45 pm North Korean time, 2:45 am EDT, the two leaders stood and shook hands over the line of concrete that marks the demarcation line between North and South.
Immediately after, President Trump crossed the line to join Kim in his country, the first President ever to visit North Korea. Then the two crossed back into the South, meeting with the leader of South Korea, President Moon Jae-in. They all entered Freedom House to continue talks. President Trump and Kim met alone, and talked for about an hour.
President Trump recounted later that he asked Kim: “would you like me to come across? Kim said he would be honored. It was my honor to do it.”
The president invited Kim to the White House to continue talks.
Through an interpreter, Kim told Mr. Trump, “I never expected to meet you in this place.”

I’m glad I stayed up to watch this happening.
