      Have a beautiful day Lucille 🙂 !

Funny I was debating between posting the picture I did post and this one for a morning greeting. I have so many wonderful memories of sitting and playing on the front porch, long conversations, melting popsicles, chalk drawing, trick or treating, waving to neighborhood friends, kissing my beau, I even broke my wrist falling off of it when I was 14.

Thanks, lovely! You have some sweet memories (and one not so happy) of your family porch. Great remembrances to pass on to your grandchildren.

Maybe this planter full of beautiful flowers would look great on your present porch…

That picture reminds me of some I have seen of the last family left in Cade’s Cove. Once I would never have seen the beauty in these women, now they look better to me than any Hollywood lovely. I wish I would look just like that as I age, but I’m not that lean and dignified.

Looking at those two, you just know they sure outlived many hard times and lots of back breaking work and went to sit on the porch as soon as it was dealt with. That is clean to the bone strength there.

I agree Menagerie. They speak silent power without knowing a thing about them or having any history attached to them. I imagine they were, and are, warriors before the throne.

They remind me of a family friend, she knew my dad’s parents and was there for the birth of my dad.

When she was about 87 I was giving her a ride to a doctor appointment. She was blind, long blind, maybe close to 10 years at the point. Anyhow she told me I made a wrong turn and I said I didn’t think that I had, so she was silent. A mile or so later I made another turn at which point she told me that I was without a doubt not going to her doctors, “You should have turned left at this street and right at that street.” Somehow she knew. Her sense of direction and memory was that strong. As it turns out she was 100% correct. I was taking her to her doctor but the wrong doctor for that day.

She tsk’d tsk’d me and we headed in the right direction.

Oh and once when I took her shopping she told me to just put her in one of the electronic scooter chairs 🙂 !

Porch life is great. The best memories of my childhood involve neighbor’s porches. And We are blessed to have big front and back porches and two smaller ones downstairs. Good living, and down here, we get good use of them about nine months a year.

When we moved to the cabin it was December 1, and we soon fell in love with the sunsets visible from the back porch. So for months we bundled up and sat on the back porch to watch the sunset. It was twelve good porch months that year. 😀

        Porches = contentment.

Our family’s big front porch went the width of the house…two steps up on either side of perfectly done concrete like men created in the early and mid-20th Century. We sat in some well-used but serviceable faux-wicker chairs my father found in the trash behind a business. Southern California weather being such, we spent the entire year outside on that porch with our dog, Michael O’Halloren, and numerous cats (I named one Akihito, after the then-Crown Prince of Japan)…great fun to remember.

I moved to the big city of Los Angeles in 1963 and never again had a real porch, just patios–not the same.

My grandparents had a porch on the front of their house on the side of a hill. It was in TN and was surrounded by trees. I loved sitting on it.

COMMENT: “The thing that makes Trump ‘seem’ so spectacular is that he has balls in an environment that has been nutless for decades.”

Plus: “Trump is known as a builder, but if there’s anything really Trump likes to do, it’s breaking things. Trump broke Kathy Griffin. He broke her really badly. He broke Michael Moore. He reduced Hillary Clinton to a bitter old drunk. He broke both Michael Avenatti and Stormy Daniels. He broke Rosie O’Donnell. He broke his former aide Omarosa. He’s in the process of breaking the anti-Trump propaganda network CNN completely. Everyone who goes up against Trump loses. It’s uncanny how some celebrity or athlete goes off on an anti-Trump rant and then fails professionally in some fashion, sometimes in unrelated ways. Just look at this schadenfreudelicious list. And now I hear that there are supposedly a whole bunch of anti-Trump movie scripts that have lately been floating around Hollywood. It reminds me of the height of the Iraq war when Hollywood released a bunch of anti-Iraq war movies. They were abysmal failures at the box office. They must’ve thought that most Americans were against the Iraq War. But at that time, most Americans supported the war. What a bubble they must live in. They must think that most Americans hate Trump. But that’s the way to get more Trump. And they’re going to get more Trump. Good and hard.”

Stella, was Glenn Reynolds not a NeverTrumper? If so, will take his words with a grain of salt, but his observation of the Trump Effect is quite accurate.
Amazing, is it not, how Pres Trump’s detractor’s all destroy themselves after attacking the President?
Our Lord does work in mysterious ways, but as Mom always reminded me, Revenge is the Lord’s, and He never fails us.
Thanks for the quote, quite refreshing. Btw, Glenn Beck is self-destructing this morning, judging by today’s youtubr clip. No doubt Ol’ CheetoFace hoped to garner attention from Pres Trump, which is never going to happen. Will wager The Pres has no idea who is Glenn Beck lolol.

      • Glenn Beck has lost his mind again. He lives and has/ or had his studio very close to where my sisters live. I was excited when he moved to our area and urged one of my sisters to go work for him. I’m so thankful she didn’t pursue it, because not long after relocating here, he jumped the shark.

Trump only breaks things so that he can build things. I always look at President Trump as a builder with literally hundreds of projects in the works. He doesn’t have time to talk the problems into leaving so he whacks them.

I imagine all the red tape and bureaucracy are a large portion of what kept him from becoming President earlier in life.

I personally think we are seeing him start to chomp at the bit for the first time in his presidency.

    From Brian Kolfage of buildthewall.com:

This morning I woke up to some incredible news that I just had to share with you. Late yesterday, our construction crews cemented in the final panels of our first segment of border wall! The wall they said we could never build has been built. I hope you share in our team’s sense of accomplishment because your support is the only reason we were able to get this historic project across the finish line.

We The People’s Wall stretches for more than half a mile and it cuts off a major artery of drug and human smuggling. Tens of thousands of people and hundreds of millions of dollars have been smuggled through this area every year. Our Wall cuts off one of the last remaining open areas used as an illegal pipeline between El Paso Texas and Juarez Mexico and has already saved tax payers more than it cost to construct (between 6 and 8mil).

Project 1 has been an overwhelming success but we have so much more wall we can build on private land in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. The only thing we need to keep going is funding.

Rush’s first segment today contained commentary on the Markle “nasty” wording…and I think Rush is right…she’s so unimportant to the President that he spent no time thinking about her and didn’t know she’d said terrible things about him (and, IMO, likely has voiced same extensively to Harry who also likely has not bothered to check things out for himself).

Anyway, this segment contains other issues, but it is well worth the read (and has some nice photos from the UK)…”Trump Fights Back Against Onslaught of Fake News” – June 3, 2019

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
