   Douglas was old generation liberal when they actually believed this. If he were plunked down in the midst of lefties today without any preparation or years of indoctrination, he wouldn’t recognize what’s going on re the law. It likely wouldn’t take him too long, though, to see which side he’d choose when he began to be shunned and dinned.
