Hey y’all, from my Military.co site, they’re trying to get birthday cards to a WWII nurse/vet. She’ll be 100 years old. They might be late but then a lot will, better late than never:

Her’s already pardoned Michael Behenna and may be considering pardoning 1LT Clint Lawrence, SEAL Chief Edward Gallagher, MAJ Mathew Golsteyn, a group of Marine sniper who were pilloried after a 38 second video of them urinating on a Taliban corpse was aired on Youtube and a Blackwater contractor.

All of these persons were charged with killing Taliban or suspected Taliban in a war zone under stressed conditions except the Marines who were charged with desecration of a corpse. Never mind that the Marine snipers were out in the field constantly, were highly praised by the brass for their kill levels and just had one of their Marine killed by the Taliban and had one of his limbs cut off and hung from a tree. One of the Marine snipers won’t be here to appreciate his pardon if it comes, he ‘accidentally’ overdosed on pain killers after his deal with the Marines to avoid trial.

It’s of note that all of these cases except one were prosecuted under our first Baathist POtuS, Hillary even piped upon at least one and even military brass piped up to taint the waters. It’s almost as if this Baathist-American POtuS we had wanted to send a message to American forces that they shouldn’t pursue killing Moslem terrorist enemies of civilized peoples all that seriously.

Trump’s reversing a travesty, it’s war not a video game. Trump’s bringing justice to what’s been treated as a political exercise where military are publicly sacrificed to meet a social agenda.

Wild night and it isn’t over yet. I don’t think we have any storm damage, but the rain still hasn’t stopped, it’s been sheets all night. We’re not flooded, but we’re flooded in, all the roads getting out are flooded. All the towns near us are flooded and even the highways are closed. Need to go see how our barns and animals are holding up, but we have bolts of lightning coming down. I hate to see how high the lake and river is, as it was already almost as high as it was during the 2 the floods the same year a few years ago. Corp of Engineers has been refusing to release any water and now this has hit.
A little community about 20 miles from us was hit by a tornado. I haven’t seen the damage, but they’re saying it’s pretty bad. No injuries reported as of now, but they’re still rescuing people that are trapped in their cellars.

Just thankful we have no damage.

I have a friend who was born and raised in Southern Cal. She moved to Cheyenne, WY for a few years. One day they had a series of storms come in. She had the radio on and said they announced a tornado in the area and to go to the lowest place in the house. Then, a few minutes later, they announced that there was flooding and to go to the highest room in the house. This went on every few minutes all afternoon. She was pretty hysterical by the end of it. She was laughing when she told me about it later, but at the time, she said she was scared to death.

Tornadoes I’m accustomed to, but when we had the first earthquake I did that. My first instinct was to run to the basement and then I thought that probably wasn’t a good idea, so then I was running up and down the stairs not knowing if being upstairs or downstairs was the better idea. lol

Hopefully now the water will start receding. The brilliant powers that be finally decided after the water got so high there was a danger of busting the dam along with flooding several people and several major highways to open the dam.
The problem is they waited so long that they had to open it as fast as possible and many people had to be evacuated below the dam and another town is now at risk of being under water.

I honestly do not know how these people decide these things, but it seems to me it would be a hell of a lot smarter to start releasing water at a lower rate when it starts rising as it’s been doing for almost 2 months now then to let it get to capacity and let out a trickle until it’s an “oh crap” moment and we got to open it up now.

We’re up above the dam and knew this was going to happen. We’ve been watching it rise by the day. They had it all under control though until they didn’t.

I never understand their arguments, this one has been those south have had so much water we can’t put any on them, but let’s wait and dump a bunch on them at once.
Not to mention what they’ve already done to a bunch of other people and towns, while they’ve been holding back and causing stress and cracks on the dam. Then those upstream from us have been just as bad and now they’re dumping more than we can let out.
Then we have another dam in another area that is now flooding the Arkansas river due to them waiting until the dam was bursting to open it up full blast.

Because I can hear the alarms when they open the dam, they have no problem opening it several times a week when there’s no risk of flooding and lake levels are low. Then last year when we had a drought, their intelligence of doing just that caused extremely low lake levels, which endangered water for many.
I have very little confidence in the Corps of Engineers.

              Follow the money.

Here we had a higher up rent space about 30 minutes away to store our salt.

So when the snow and ice came our storage facilities in town were almost empty. Salt truck drivers had to drive in the storms to pick up their loads.

Why not use the facilities specifically built and located right here in town to store our salt? Because someone had a friend and their friend was paid rental fees to store it elsewhere.

We have a town about an hour away from us that spent $4 million to build a shelter at the school. The agreement made between the city, school and taxpayers was they would build it at the school, but it would also be a designated city storm shelter.
The other day with all the scare tactics the media was making over this was going to be historic tornadoes, several schools closed due to the possible threat of tornadoes. This school was one of them that closed.
They did have tornado warnings late that afternoon and people went to the shelter and it was locked up.
The school blaming the city, the city blaming the school. Come to find out the city tried to unlock it and their keys didn’t work because the school had changed the locks because they decided it was the school’s personal property. So obviously they didn’t care about the safety of the kids, the argument for building it when the kids were locked out of it along with all the parents and other taxpayers who paid for it.

Didn’t let the people who paid for use it and canceled school due to possible storms when the kids would have been safer there then at home alone.

Our brilliant politicians in OKC though gave the teachers another raise and schools more money the other day.

Teachers’ union still not happy though and don’t like it that they didn’t spend more and are saving money.
I’m still pissed off that with their increased revenue, we didn’t get tax cuts.

There may be a glimmer of hope in the Millennial generation …

Thoughts from a hipster coffee shop…

I’m sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis trying to think of what to write about. I scroll through my newsfeed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of Democratic candidates calling for policies to “fix” the so-called injustices of capitalism. I put my phone down and continue to look around. I see people talking freely, working on their MacBook’s, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me. We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we’ve become completely blind to it. Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose. These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we don’t give them a second thought. We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty. One. Times. Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards. Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful.

Our unappreciation is evident as the popularity of socialist policies among my generation continues to grow. Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, “An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity.”

Never saw American prosperity. Let that sink in. When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I’ve ever heard in my 26 years on this earth. Now, I’m not attributing Miss Ocasio-Cortez’s words to outright dishonesty. I do think she whole-heartedly believes the words she said to be true. Many young people agree with her, which is entirely misguided. My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity. I know this first hand, I went to college, let’s just say I didn’t have the popular opinion, but I digress…

Why then, with all of the overwhelming evidence around us, evidence that I can even see sitting at a coffee shop, do we not view this as prosperity? We have people who are dying to get into our country. People around the world destitute and truly impoverished. Yet, we have a young generation convinced they’ve never seen prosperity, and as a result, elect politicians dead set on taking steps towards abolishing capitalism. Why? The answer is this, my generation has ONLY seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didn’t live in the great depression, or live through two world wars, or see the rise and fall of socialism and communism. We don’t know what it’s like not to live without the internet, without cars, without smartphones. We don’t have a lack of prosperity problem. We have an entitlement problem, an ungratefulness problem, and it’s spreading like a plague…

This writer hit the nail on the head. My generation, the Baby Boomers, was raised on Patriotism, the War, the Holocaust, how awful the Depression was, and how grateful we should be to live in the United States of America, the greatest nation ever. I lived in Panama, Gitmo, Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida and never had air conditioning until sometime in my middle teens when we got a wall air conditioner………….and thought it was great. I had never heard of a TV until I was 6 and we got one of those tiny little screens……….and thought it was great. We were far from rich, but we had food to eat, clothes to wear, and a car to drive around in…………and we thought it was great.

Unfortunately, a few more generations and there is a group that has been so privileged that they don’t even recognize how privileged they are.

              • Sounds fun! My husband & I are heading out early tomorrow morning & the twins are coming Friday after Brandon gets off work. We’ll be opening my parents’ Cottage after a long winter sitting idle, getting the water pump going etc. Mom & Dad are coming later after stopping by the hunting shack to pick up Dad’s hunting buddy’s trailer that we use to take the leaves from the property to the community composting center in town.

My dad’s sister & my brother’s family are coming up Friday, but both young couples (their oldest daughter & our oldest son) won’t make it this trip, nor will our daughter 😦 but the good news is that my husband & I get the “honeymoon suite” that the newly weds would usually have to “wrestle” over. That’s a bedroom with a locking door that I still consider “ours” since we lived at the Cottage for a year & a half in our early marriage.

My husband just bought an electric smoker, recommended by his boss, so is planning to take our gas smoker North to smoke up some ribs. He also got some nice steaks to grill sometime over the holiday. The carnivores will be eating well!

Hope all your events are problem free & a great time of fellowship & love for you & friends & family!!! Josiah & I will likely stay a few extra days up North since neither of us have to get back to work like my husband & Brandon do. Oh & my aunt & I are planning some genealogical endeavors & puzzles, which I always enjoy. If it’s warm enough there might be a few brave souls that get in a swim or two. Summer’s almost here!!!

The active Iranian army has some 350,000 personnel, the IRGC some 125,000 and the Basij (sort of a militia) is around 11-million. The entire IRGC would take a bit of time to join any fray, the Basij quite a bit longer but the active forces should be able to hold the fort for at least the IRGC to step in and the Basij would deploy in depth.

I don’t see us invading mainland Iran, we’d need a logistics train in place for that but I could see us kicking the **** out of the Iranian naval military facilities around the Straits and maybe on the Arabian Sea if necessary.

Posted this next door, thought I’d post it here too in case your travel plans include NOLA:

Top news in New Orleans is that a Danish tourist, part of a group motorcycling across America, was robbed, shot and killed as he toured the city.

Rough irony was that he was a veteran of BOTH Iraq and Afghanistan NATO deployments in support of US operations. He survived both wars only to be murdered by some robber in a city he was visiting – what does that tell you about our predominantly…dangerous city.

He was in a somewhat…seedy…section of town, one in which natives wouldn’t be out walking in at night unless they were looking to test their mortality. A confrontation isn’t guaranteed but then neither is your safety. No word on why the hotel staff didn’t warn him that being out on the street there at night isn’t all that safe but…

The news found people who saw his body lying in the street but they didn’t call it in because they thought it was some guy passed out. That’s the neighborhood, you be passed out on the ground and the residents just step on over you, nothing unusual about that.

It took so long to ID the vic as everything from his wallet to watch to passport, everything, was stripped from his body. It may have been the person who shot him in the head (they’re not wounding here, they don’t want witnesses) who stole everything or it may be some locals who thought he was just passed out (hole in his head not considered) but it appears to be a robbery. Not one gone bad, killing the perp’s more an SOP due to that ‘witness thang, And the locals just let his bloodied body lie. This is probably going to generate yet another European warning about the safety of their tourists visiting NOLA…and I don’t blame them at all.

One of these days I’m going to flip on the morning news and one of, if not the, top stories is going to be a black shooting, a shooting in a black area or security videos of black youth breaking into cars. One of these days.

            Nope, still waiting…

One of the top stories is a 13-year old boy shooting two young girls at an apartment swimming pool. Nothing direct as he’s a juvie (but appears will be charged as a adult) but the info surrounding it is not being released much sooooooo.

Then a young man, clearly identified by the mug shot, who robbed a well known TV reporter at gun point some years ago without being punished, was finally arrested yesterday and charged with the murder of a young woman and the attempted murder of her boyfriend.

Liberals always find the lives of others expendable to prove what loving and forgiving cretins they are.

We’ve had a few TV news folks mugged/robbed in the city over the years. They’re always neutrally reporting these events until it happens to them. Most left town after the event.

I am one of the few people who really can’t stand the members of the Beatles, well John and Paul in particular. Two truly terrible men.

Anyhow. Yoko Ono the Lefts Goddess of Love and Peace used to refuse to refer to John’s killer by his name or even refer to him as human, in a letter about him she refers to him as “it”. And yet she is a beacon for humanity. Beloved by the Leftists. She may call him by his name now I have no idea, sickening phone, woman.

Yet President Trump refers to MS13 as animals and it’s as if he said “Let’s go scalp brown babies!”

It’s all an act. The Left doesn’t give a darn about anything other than money, power and pretending to appear to be compassionate in a twisted world.

The Left is the biggest crowd of hypocrites.

I spit in their general direction.

                  Good morning Czar !

What? No comments on “what the bloody hell happened” in Australian elections! Exactly like the Trump 2016 victory — the pollsters, the pundits, the bookies, and even the predicting crocodile got it totally wrong! Seems the liberals’ agenda was, basically, too liberal for the voters. And the voters didn’t want all the crazy-a55 changes. The winner is the same Evangelical Christian who held the office. Portentious?

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

A prayer for Justice Kavanaugh and Col. Flynn:

    Prayer to St. Michael

    St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle;
be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
    May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do you, O prince of the heavenly host,
    by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits
who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

    A Thousand Years
    Christina Perri

    Heart beats fast
    Colors and promises
    How to be brave
How can I love when I’m afraid to fall
    But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt, suddenly goes away somehow
    One step closer
I have died everyday, waiting for you
Darling, don’t be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more
    Time stands still
    Beauty in all she is
    I will be brave
I will not let anything, take away
What’s standing in front of me
Every breath, every hour has come to this
    One step closer
I have died everyday, waiting for you
Darling, don’t be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed, I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me, I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more
    One step closer
    One step closer
I have died everyday, waiting for you
Darling, don’t be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed, I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me, I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more.
