Jerry Nadler’s 180 turn

Depends on the party, apparently – Republican or Democrat, that is.

FOX NEWS

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., led the charge Wednesday to hold Attorney General Bill Barr in contempt of Congress for not handing over documents related to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe — declaring the move necessary as the country enters a “constitutional crisis.”

But Nadler took a very different stance on contempt back in 2012, when House Republicans took the same step against then-AG Eric Holder for refusing to hand over documents related to the Fast and Furious gun-running scandal, where DOJ officials tracked thousands of guns smuggled across the border but did nothing to stop them.

“Nadler now says the White House ‘stonewalling’ Congress represents an attack on ‘the essence of our democracy’ – as though stonewalling were some new phenomena,” former Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, said in an op-ed for Fox News. “Where was Nadler’s righteous indignation when the stonewalling came from a Democratic White House?”

Democrats say that Republicans did the same thing when they supported the contempt charge against AG Holder, yet oppose this one against AG Barr. Marco Rubio answers that charge rather succinctly:

I agree.

The whole report is available in a Secure reading facility…..and it was the Demos who author the current law, after Clinton impeachment. In addition, grand jury testimony at times is not reliable…..

Pardon me for candor, but is it not trite to suggest that Jerry Nadler would play political games? Given that the man is a moron and is doing more damage to the his party of crime than can be undone, I understand that to suggest he is capable of that much thinking is a stretch…but seriously. What else have they got: Lies, Hate, Crimes, Obstruction and every dirty political trick ever devised. I guess that’s the key…Nadler doesn’t have to do any thinking. He just follows the scripts of his peers.

Pulling back the curtain is always useful. I admit it is less useful here, where most people know what is going on, but that isn’t true universally, and you never know who is reading.
