May 2, 2019 is the National Day of Prayer. The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
In 1988, the law was unanimously amended by both the House and the Senate and signed into law by President Ronald Reagan, designating the first Thursday of May as a day of national prayer. Every president since 1952 has signed a National Day of Prayer proclamation.
Of course, your prayer is personal, but if you are unsure what to say, if you are a Christian, follow our Lord’s example:
One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
He said to them, “When you pray, say:
“‘Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen.’”
Did you know that there is a Presidential Prayer Team? If you are interested, you can enroll HERE.
Last night, President Trump spoke at the National Day of Prayer Dinner.
This morning, President Trump spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast, which he attended with the First Lady.

President Trump has, IMO, grown in a spiritual way during his Presidency, understanding moe of how the Lord is working in his life and the life of America. I believe he means every word he says when speaking before religious groups.

Was just reading through a discussion thread on Facebook about President Trump’s spirituality, and the part that God plays in the affairs of our nation. Someone told this story:
Years ago I had several opportunities to work with President Reagan and record him in the White House. Every time he left I would always whisper “God Bless you Mr. President”. One time he was about twenty feet away when I softly said those words. He whirled around on his heel and bent forward looking directly at me with an intensity I still can not explain. I felt his presence touch my soul and was suddenly beet red and sweating from my palms, face, back, etc. Then President Reagan said “Thank you. Presidents need that far more than you can possibly know.” With that he turned and went into the Oval Office.
That night, Sam Donaldson was on TV standing about two feet from the President and screaming his question…Mr. President, what about…. Reagan who had heard my whisper from twenty some feet put his hand to his ear and looking at Sam said “What? I can’t hear you.” Lol. I love selective hearing…and miss Reagan more than ever. In retrospect, I don’t know if God did bless our President…but I do know that by having Ronald Reagan inspire and lead this country…God did indeed bless America.
