Yew is one of the plants where the poison is not destroyed when the plant dies. Thus, branches removed from a yew by high winds or pruning will retain their poison.

Though the berries are harmless, the seed within is highly toxic. All other parts of the plant are poison.

        My opinion.

I think the person who posted the picture of the CA Redwood is correct.

And I may just be dull but I have no idea what connections IPOT is making 😔.

Comey right now, at least in the interview that I watched is playing the dullard. It comes across as disingenuous as everyone knows that Comey is a wicked political knife fighter. But still he is playing dumb?

So the short of it is I don’t think his tweets have further cryptic or coded meaning, (James Comey is simply too smart to do something for the juvenile giggle of it in my opinion). I think he is playing a game and trying to get people to think he has some message or deep strategy going on,I don’t think that he is chuckling behind his tweets I think in reality he is scared witless.

This is desperation, this is what it looks like when your are a vile corrupt political operative and your protection bet, which was a guaranteed win actually loses and you have to scramble and make stuff up to keep your sorry butt out of the slammer.

They had no plan for a Trump victory and their whole corrupt empire is crumbling down around them.

        🤨

Rudy Giuliani was on Fox News yesterday and said “Pal you gotta go to jail for one of those” he was referring to James Comey’s opposing statements made while under oath in recalling President Trump’s statements to him about General Michael Flynn.

        • There are a lot of folks trying to decode what Comey is saying. Lots of opinions out there. I just shared that one, because it was interesting, but I’m not sure I understand his interpretation either. I did think his mentioning of Pelosi being in Ireland was curious and I knew she was in Germany recently. What is she up to? Comey is very intelligent and a snake in the grass, so he’s messaging someone of consequence. Whatever his tweets are about, they can’t be good. I believe he’s trying to undermine our president again. I desperately want to see Comey, HRC, O, Brennan, McCabe, Clapper, and a whole host of others in handcuffs and frog-marched into prison for the remainder of their days for what they’ve tried to do to POTUS and our country.

Clapper has already said publicly that Obama was POS zero for spying on Trump.

When push comes to shove these demons are going to devour each other. That they always stuck together no matter what has always been what saved them, they didn’t care what anyone thought of them, as long as they could keep their corrupt cabal rolling they were bound by their deceit.

A Priest Saved ‘The Body of Christ’ From Notre Dame, and NY Times Thought He Meant a Statue

I was intrigued today by the mystery of a small Jesus statue that features prominently in a New York Times story on Father Jean-Marc Fournier, the Paris Fire Department chaplain who risked his life to save many of Notre Dame cathedral’s prized relics. “I had two priorities: to save the crown of thorns and a statue of Jesus,” Father Fournier supposedly said.

The statue continues to star in the story:

As the chaplain began removing a statue of Jesus, he said, his colleagues were fighting the fire from the cathedral’s towers. The flames had started to threaten the wooden structure around the belfry — putting the whole cathedral at even greater risk.

With the statue in hand, Father Fournier, alone in the nave, gave a benediction to the cathedral, he said.

“I thought Jesus could help us a little bit and work, too,” he said. “I invited him to worry about his own house if he didn’t want to finish the night under a tent by the Canal Saint-Martin.”

Weirdly, there was no other reporting about Fournier saving a Jesus statue from Notre Dame. For that matter, Notre Dame cathedral doesn’t even have a Jesus statue. He co-stars in the famous Pieta and a statue of the Virgin and Child (both unharmed), but neither could be lugged around by an elderly priest.

On the other hand, reporting on the ground indicated that Fournier saved “the Crown of Thorns and the Blessed Sacrament.” CNN reports Fournier told them, “The police took the crown and I took the holy sacrament [the wafers, or body of Christ].” French-speakers can listen to Fournier telling his story to a French Catholic TV network, and again, he mentions saving the crown, the sacraments, and nothing else.

While the statue appeared in no other stories, the Times story was the only one not to mention the sacraments. I’m sure you see where this is going. Needless to say, there’s now a correction indicating “an earlier version of this article misidentified one of two objects recovered from Notre-Dame by the Rev. Jean-Marc Fournier. It was the Blessed Sacrament, not a statue of Jesus.”..

Just made Lebanese style red lentil soup. I upgraded it from the last time I made it, and it is even more delicious! Flavored with cumin, cinnamon, coriander, cardamom, garlic and fresh lemon juice. So good. I used homemade turkey stock, but it would be good with veggie stock too. Veggies added were very finely diced onion, carrot, celery and the already-mentioned garlic (4 cloves).

When I was about 10 or 11 my mother saw a picture in a magazine of an “egg tree”. Every year afte that she & I made them. First we chose a branch with lots of twigs and angles, painted it pink & stood it in a nice container with sand. Then we poked small holes in raw eggs and blew the contents out (to be used for scrambled eggs some morning, or in a cake). We colored or glued the eggs with beautiful things, put them on strings or pretty cords, and hung them on the branches. Nice memory.

    Re the OKC bombing.

I can remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news. I was doing paperwork and had the headphones for my radio on. What I remember clear as glass to this day was the national commentator saying that a black separatist group had called and taken credit for the bombing. That was broadcast just once an then all mention of it ceased, fell into a black hole and was never referred to again.

We caught the instigator and despite the leads pointing to folks in the Philippines we caught the perp, Tim McVeigh, just 90 minutes later when he screwed up and was stopped on a traffic technicality. Soon after his conspirator, Terry Nichols was vacuumed up, tried and sentenced to life plus and buried in the bowels of the ultramax security Florence, CO prison. All’s well and no loose ends.

It was really odd for me to read accounts in the national news (read New York Times) about a part of the world that was very familiar to me. I remember particularly how one reporter made a huge deal about a billboard that a farmer had erected on his land that said, “Get us OUT of the United Nations!” – Like the guy was some kind of white nationalist radical. He was just a farmer and the sign had already been there for years. He just didn’t think like a reporter from ‘New York City’!

We had a national reporter that was traveling across Oklahoma and was taking pictures of those Get us Out of the U.N. signs that you can see all over rural Oklahoma. One man checking his mail by his sign was actually asked if he sympathized with McVeigh. Him and his people were soon hightailing it out of his driveway when he asked them if they had ever seen the business end of a gun before, because they were about to see one for the first and last time if they didn’t get the hell off his property.

It was crazy and I never could understand why they wanted to report on rural areas of our state, nowhere near OKC.

We lost our UPS driver and they’ve obviously been having trouble getting another to stay in this area. I’ve been having a great time with all the city boys coming out. One the other day asked me if there was a store out here that he really needed to use the bathroom. I told him the nearest store was 8 miles away, but out here the guys just use the trees or we have an outhouse out back. At his blank stare I told him that was a country port-a-potty. You just have to watch out for the spiders and snakes.
He couldn’t get back to his truck fast enough.
DH asked me why I didn’t tell him he could use the shop bathroom. I told him there was no fun in that. He told me if I didn’t quit scaring them all off we were never going to get another regular driver.

He was probably in his mid-20’s if I were to guess. I think the way he was acting this was the first time he had ever left city limits. You’d think they would quit sending the city boys out here, none of them last more than a month.
The young ones don’t really surprise me, but those my age do. When my daughter was in HS and was playing at a school that had port-a-potties to use at the ball field. One of the mothers went to the bathroom and was in there for an extremely long time. She came out and said she looked everywhere for a handle to flush the toilet and could not find one. I thought she was joking and started laughing. She then seriously asked me how you flush them, thinking I was laughing because she wasn’t smart enough to figure out how to flush it. I told her you don’t flush a port-a-potty.

My Grandfather was against them getting indoor plumbing. Up until the day he died, he would still go outside and pee off the back porch and do his other business in the outhouse. It had been probably 25 years since he lost the battle of indoor plumbing and he still complained of the waste of money it was.

You don’t find many people in Oklahoma who believe it was just McVeigh and Nichols. You also never heard many local police officers who had anything good to say about the FBI privately afterwards.
After the bombing though and they cracked down on fertilizer, the government managed to destroy one of the longest running plants in our county, that employed thousands of people. Almost everyone in this county worked at some point at the old fertilizer plant or knew somebody who worked at the plant.

On a personal level, it was beyond heartbreaking the children that died and were injured. Many of us knew the parents, grandparents or some family member or had family or friends who knew them. Some never recovered. It could have been even worse, there were several schools that were scheduled for a field trip that day to visit and it was canceled. My niece was one who was going to be there that day.

I will never forget the first photo I saw of Chris Fields carrying the little bloody broken body of Baylee Almon.

He was carrying her so tenderly, with such a look of love and sorrow on his face.

Later I read about the first responder doctors and how at first there were simply not enough of them and people were screaming at them to save children who were going to die regardless of what treatment they received, I remember the desperation in the doctors words of not even being able to give comfort to the dying in the hope of saving those who could be saved.

        A crushing time.

Good Friday in NO area is a big family event, with extended families & friends getting together in backyards to boil & eat seafood. Pretty day for it, too.

  12. lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

  13. A prayer for Justice Kavanaugh and Col. Flynn:

    Prayer to St. Michael

    St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle;
be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
    May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do you, O prince of the heavenly host,
    by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits
who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

See on FB that Romney is flapping his jaws again. A friend said he made a statement that he is appalled and sickened.
Well I’m appalled and sickened that I ever tried to get anyone to vote for him and even more sickened that I ever voted for him.

I was reading this article on Breitbart of Faith Leaders against the heartbeat legislation and in favor of abortion and it once again makes me deeply disturbed at so-called Christians these days.

So called is right. I just read parts of this to my husband, who is much less judgemental than me. He said “They are Christian in name only.”

I get that we Christians are a divided lot, even on some important things. But if you don’t have a respect for, a value for life at its most fragile and innocent, it seems to me that all else would just be pretend. Why bother?

One’s conscience must be virtually inactive at that point.

Churches have fallen so far that I think many of them anymore are nothing more than a social gathering.
I look at the fruit and if they have rotten fruit supporting abortion and opposing any and every law outlawing the murder of babies then I want nothing to do with them.

When do these so called christians believe a human being becomes a child of God?

Obviously if they are fine with killing it, the unborn has no more intrinsic value in their mind than a cockroach, if the unborn have no more value than a cockroach they cannot possible argue that the unborn are children of God, so when do the unborn go from having the value of a cockroach to being a child formed in the image of God?

I asked someone ( a lunatic pro-choicer) this recently and they told me I was crazy.

I argued this with a dumb women awhile back. She told me I needed to read the Bible because not only did God order sinful women to abort their babies, not just humans were made in the image of God. All of God’s creatures were made in His image.

When I told her she was nuts and obviously was not reading the Bible, she then told me I wasn’t much of a Christian if I did not know what was in the Bible.

Off-hand, if killing humans is okay, or even ordered, why did “Thou shalt not kill” end up on the list of the Ten Commandments? God didn’t order us not to kill, say, cows.

Obviously, humans are different than cows in God’s view.

God gave us animals to eat and dominion over all animals.
It’s always been very screwed up to me that a majority of your rabid abortion supporters are also rabid supporters of animal rights.
