This guy is entertaining. He’s not the most knowledgeable gardener on YouTube, but he has some good information. I don’t recommend planting in the fiber pots that are supposedly biodegradable. In my experience they don’t degrade very well, and since the roots will cling to the pot material, it makes it difficult to get the plants out of them. Standard plastic cells and trays work best, I think, for growing from seeds. It also makes it easier to water from the bottom when you use a waterproof tray that allows for the cells to be lifted slightly from the bottom for good drainage.

    It’s a foggy morning in the woods, my favorite kind of morning. We’ve gone from the stark beauty of bare winter trees to the softer, fuller spring leaves layered through all the fog. And the dogwoods add little pops through it all.

    Coffee is best outside on mornings like this.

    A while ago I completed a class action claim form against Consumers Union (Consumer’s Report). I expected nothing, or very little, but got a check today for $109.28. I’m shocked.

    The case is Don Ruppel v. Consumers Union of United States, Inc, if you are interested.

    Any Jeopardy fans?

    Maniac chap on there who is a professional gambler. He just broke the single day winning total with a final pot of $110,914.00 😄!

    The previous record was held by Roger Craig, a 33-year-old University of Delaware graduate student, won $77000 on “Jeopardy” on September 14, 2010.

    So much fun to watch 🙂 . And on the simply delicious side James Holzhauer highlights one letter of his name each day (this was his third day winning), anyhow, the Left-wing nutters are saying that he is using the Nazi SS symbol for the “S” in his name and that his odd bet totals have racist meanings behind them. Really you simply can not make this stuff up.

    On the way back from the doctor appointment I had I went by the Big Box store and LO! they had four tomato plants in 4″ pots that were about a foot high – I snatched them right up.

    Meanwhile I bought a catnip plant thinking I’d grow it and have some kitty dope both fresh and dried. Whoops – left it on the counter and forgot about it. I now have two stoned inside cats. Fat Thing’s out looking for tuna-flavored Mallomars and Grey Cat’s trying to walk up the wall and is falling over backwards. Damn good thing these cats don’t live in Denver.
