I’ll have to see if I can find an actual plant to put in my yard instead of just buying them already cut at the store. I don’t know if they grow well here or not. I have a gift card for Calloways nursery I need to use. I’m sure they can advise me on it. Now I just need some decent weekend weather to plant things. 🙂

Check with your nursery, but I believe that peonies need cold weather in winter to thrive.

My grandmother used to write to my parents. She was always writing about her chrysanthemums, only she spelled it chrissyantheums. I asked my aunt if she said it the way she spelled it and she said she did. I always thought that was so cute.

I’ve heard it so many ways. I generally say it pee-ah-nees, but I don’t know if that’s correct. I love them, though. When our Trader Joe’s has them, I pick some up to put in a vase in my kitchen. They’re so cheerful!

Lilies of the Field
In his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus mentioned “lilies of the field.” Tulips, poppies, daisies and other wildflowers have been suggested as candidates for “lilies of the field.” In this photo essay we discover the subtleties of his message about these beautiful, short lifespan flowers.

Excellent article by a doctor with an autistic child writing about the non-existence of a link between vaccines and autism.
Vaccines cannot and do not cause autism — there’s no debate
https://thehill.com/opinion/healthcare/425444-vaccines-cannot-and-do-not-cause-autism-theres-no-debate
We now have clinical studies with over one million children enrolled, showing there’s no link between vaccines and autism, not MMR, not thimerosal-containing vaccines, not vaccines closely spaced, not aluminum-containing vaccines, not to mention the fact there is no evidence showing that there is a link.
Vaccines cannot cause autism
There is no reasonable plausibility of vaccines causing autism. In the last few years we’ve learned a lot about the developmental pathways leading to autism and its associated intellectual disabilities.
There are at least 99 autism genes to fetal brain development, mostly related to the expression of genes in brain cells or communication between neurons. Many of these result in anatomic changes during prenatal development (pregnancy), meaning well before children ever get vaccinated. Now, through the process of whole genome sequencing we are also learning a lot about Rachel’s autism and intellectual disabilities.
The Attkisson article describes some of the legal proceedings around claims of vaccines causing autism, and she quotes Kennedy’s claim that the Department of Justice was involved in “one of the most consequential frauds, arguably in human history.”
I’m not an attorney, but such claims were recently debunked by my colleague Dr. Dorit Reiss, a law professor at UC Hastings and by Dr. David Gorski a surgeon-scientist who is the managing editor of the Science-Based Medicine weblog.
As someone who has deep involvement with the autism community, a vaccine scientist who has spent three decades developing neglected disease vaccines and who takes no industry money and will never make a dime on our vaccines for the poor, I would ask the U.S. Congress to not waste taxpayer money on meaningless searches for cover-ups or phony links between vaccines and autism. Instead we need meaningful government support for the autistic community and their families, including greater assistance for job placement and mental health counseling.
We also need further research into the neurobiology and developmental pathways leading to autism and possibly innovative strategies for mitigating some of its associated intellectual disabilities.
Peter J. Hotez M.D., Ph.D., is a vaccine scientist, professor of pediatrics and dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine.
Here is what Dr. Zimmerman (cited by Attkisson) actually said:

Another angle, by an unnamed blogger who claims to be a surgeon and scientist. He says that the theory that mitochondrial dysfunction causes autism is also bunk.

What really gets me, Stella, is that the vaccines given to kids born somewhere around the late 70s-80s were given vaccines so weak that the kids had to be re-vaccinated. Wicked Son was re-vaccinated in his junior or senior year of high school.
So how is it that kids, given weak vaccines, still have “autism” while older people, given regular strength vaccines, do not? Makes no sense to me.
LikeLiked by 1 person
What vaccine did you son have to have again? I know that MMR is now given twice, but I don’t know if that was always the case. Also, some vaccines must be “boosted” as a matter of routine. Just why that is, I don’t know.

Weren’t the numbers of cases of autism extremely low back then? I only heard about a few cases. It was one out of 2,000 cases.

There’s no known correlation between vaccines and autism. Supposedly autism cases are rising, but the definition of autism has broadened to “autism spectrum”. More children are being diagnosed as autistic, but does that mean that there are more, or just more identified as such?

This video describes my five year old grandson, although he has stronger behavior actions in some areas. I suspect that this description she gives is what he will be like when he gets older. For example, he is very sensitive to eye contact, and often gets angry at school when people look at him.
Unfortunately, the three year old grandson is much more affected. I suspect, I hope, that we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg in therapies and interventions for autistic people. I hope as my grandsons grow older that many more doors will be opened for them.
I had to smile at the description she gave about how autistic people know so much about something they are interested in. The five year old already demonstrates this perfectly. We have all been educated on trains, excavators vs. backhoes (do not confuse the two!) and penguins. He has information on some of these that we don’t know how he found. Perhaps a sympathetic teacher or therapist helped him.

Evenin” all. Quiet in here today, so a question may not receive any response. But, that never stopped me from asking questions, so…
Joe Biden had 2 brain aneurysms and 2 brain surgeries for the aneurysms in 1988, one on each side of his brain. It has been said that the aneurysms changed Biden’s personality from a 45 yo hard charging up-and-comer into what we know today, basically a lovable buffoon whose many gaffes and eccentricities are tolerated.
Is this true, do you know? My knowledge/experience w/aneurysms, other than spelling the word correctly, is minimal. Thanks.

I see your question, but don’t have an informed answer. I have heard that brain injuries can cause personality changes, but does an aneurysm like his qualify as an injury?

Do his aneurysms qualify as an excuse is more to the point. This is a Czarina question but she’s out getting out taxes done.

Yes, this, does it qualify as an excuse? And if yes, then why is Biden not disqualified and sent home? idk

Evening jeans2nd! I didn’t know about the aneurysms. If so, then should he have ever been VP to start with? I never believed Biden or Obama should have been VP and Pres, but if he was mentally incapacitated then he should not have been, in my opinion.

That’s what i was thinking S&S,if used as an excuse then Biden should never have been elected anyway. If Biden has been found fit, then the aneurysms should not count as an excuse. imo

An aneurysm is a bulging on an artery. Unless it ruptures, there is no damage. If it ruptures, blood leaks or flows out, causing brain damage. Surgery or other procedures are done to keep them from rupturing. So, unless there was a rupture, I don’t think there was damage. Now, there may have been damage from the surgeries. Or perhaps he made a decision to change himself to a less tightly wound pesonality. Strokes, both occlusions and bleeds, can cause many changes in people. I have had patients who went from serious managerial types to impulsive 5 year olds after their strokes. The American Stroke Association and other sites like Stroke Connection have lots of very readable info online.

The city of New Orleans strikes again. The city council/mayor, in response to threats of not being reelected, pulled all ticket-giving traffic cameras from the city except for those in school zones and 11 at hi accident spots. As it is hard to keep most modern cars at 20 mph the city’s traditionally given drivers 5 to 6 miles over the 20 mph limit but now you’re getting tickets at 22 mph. The City preparted a letter that was supposed to explain this to the media but before it was released the Mayor’s office pulled the paragraph telling the Great Unwashed about lowering the threshold. The news stations contacted the Mayor’s office but the Mayor and a group of chosen toadies have gone to Cuba for a week on a fact-finding mission and won’t be available for comment until next Monday at the earliest. I presume she’s visiting another 3rd world nation for tips on how to effectively govern a population heavily laced with impoverished and ill-educated. Oh wait, Cuba has a 99.7% literacy rate, it’s NOLA that has 26% functional illiteracy rate.

As long as we’re on New Orleans…
The NOPD will no longer respond to non-fatality accidents, instead the city just hired a company that will respond instead. It will do a complete accident report, including ground and (if necessary) drone pictures, forward that report to NOPD who will analyze the data and issue citations if necessary. Here’s the sticky part: the city won’t pay the company (not now, we’ll see what happens later), the company will get paid by selling its proprietary report to the principals involved, i.e. the complainants, lawyers and quite possibly the insurance companies. The reports were previously free when the city handled it but now you pay. No word yet on how much you’ll pay.
The city’s excuse is still the decades-long police manpower shortage, something each mayor over the last 30-or-so years has promised to resolve). Now it takes the city over two hours to respond to a non-fatality accident, with this new company (trumpet fanfare) the response time (tested for over two months) is down to 1 and 1/2 hours! Begs the question of why retired NOPD officers working for a private company respond a half of an hour faster than they did working for us.

In all truth, I don’t see that happening. We have California and (aptly named) New Mexico as majority ‘Hispanic’ and I see them as actively assisting the illegal invasion, more so as time goes on.
The statistics on illegal invasion in Texas over the last few decades is telling, Texas has been targeted, as the Rat engineers are so proud to say, as a red to blue state and the flood of Mexicans alone is sorta scary. Texas is flipping.
Time to think stopping the flow will stop the changes is long over. It’s time to restrategize and work at dealing with what we have and where we are. We need Hispanic Republicans who can convince large parts of the incoming that if they did come here for freedom and prosperity becoming a Democrat drone is sure as hell not the way.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
