Las Fallas is a tradition honoring Saint Joseph in the region of Valencia, Spain. This extensive celebration officially begins on March 1st with a mascletà, a boisterous firework show, which recurs every afternoon through March 19th.
During the final week of the festival, music fills the streets, participants don traditional outfits, and revelers party in the streets until sunrise. In preparation, each neighborhood spends months creating giant, papier-mâché statues (fallas) to display around the city. These fallas usually satirize politics and social customs. On the final night, the fallas are burnt to the ground amidst fireworks.

      I went looking for a complete copy of Sharia which I thought I’d saved 10-12 years ago in a Word document; but couldn’t find it. I didn’t want to do a google search with the annoying results starting out with jihadist propaganda and Islamic lies.

      It’s important that people not only in Minnesota but around America read this compilation of abhorrent laws, and speak out about Shariah…before the inevitable clamp-down arrives due to dhimmis, lefties, and stupidly “tolerant” folk betray us all.

      I did find this 2003 article written about Oriana Fallaci’s book “The Rage and the Pride”…

      Fallaci writes: Because out cultural identity has been well defined for thousands of years we cannot bear a migratory wave of people who have nothing to do with us, who are not ready to become like us, to be absorbed by us. Who, on the contrary, aim to absorb us. To change our principles, our values, our identity, our way of life. And who in the meantime molest us with their retrograde ignorance, their retrograde bigotry, their retrograde religion. I am saying that in our culture there is no room for the muezzins, for the minarets, for the phony abstemious, for the humiliating chador, for the degrading burkah.

      Fallaci, a passionate defender of Western Civilization, vows to fight to the death. She tells the Islamic enemy, “War you wanted, war you want? Good. As far as I am concerned, war is and war will be. Until the last breath.”

      Of course she’s gone now and a whole new generation has come of age not knowing who she was, what she said, and how much and why she loved Western Civilization.

    Stella, your picture made me recall this article and photo, which I read last night. It’s in Detroit, and packs quite the wow factor. This parish obviously gets out in support of the feast of St. Joseph. Like the author of the post, I am tickled by the priest in sunglasses. He absolutely looks badass, like he is leading his troops, as indeed he is.

      I think a lot of folks are having commentary stomach aches from too much misinformation and blathering on the media and internet lately

      and it is spring outside too.

      folks come when the spirit strikes them….and if they go anywhere, Stella’s is the safest and sanest in the lot.

        Joshua you may have been out when Wooly popped in, he almost died due to complications from his alcoholism. He moved back to Florida and is living near his parents. He had some concrete plans but his health (this is my inference here) was still delicate when he checked in. I could not tell you when he gave us the update though.

        Not sure on anyone else.

            Hi Tundra, maybe Stella or someone has a link to his post. He had a health emergency that had to do with his stomach (I just don’t remember specifics, maybe a perforation or ulcer) caused by the alcoholism. He managed to call 911 before passing out.

            He was in intensive care, (I believe underwent emergency surgery) and the doc told him drinking again would kill him.

            Anyhow he found a home for Tripod and made it to Florida near his parents, he had a plan to get his license and move on to his new life.

            I am worried because I know alcoholism can have sneaky effects that are devastating and might not show up for quite some time even after the last drink.

            I hope he is enjoying the Florida sun and getting healthy. 🙏🏼

    I have not, as I mentioned before, watched TV in a very long time. Sometimes I catch bits and pieces when other people have it on, but I haven’t watched like I used to with my regular TV shows in forever (because once my regular TV shows went off the air, I bought the DVDs that I wanted of them and didn’t bother to look for new shows.)

    Anyway, the ads I get now I get on YouTube and there are also ads that play before my podcasts and I’ve begun to feel vaguely insulted by the AT&T ads that iHeartRadio keeps playing for me.

    I wish I knew why I felt that way.
