      Oh yummmmm! Yesterday I got to spend hours shopping with my oldest DD, for her birthday. It was so fun and it’s been ages since I’ve gotten that much time alone with her, because she’s so busy with her kiddos. We had a whole conversation about lemon cheesecake and that it’s her favorite and the only kind of cake she enjoys anymore. She told me that her husband took her to a fancy Italian restaurant for her birthday dinner, just so she could have lemon cheesecake for dessert. And then you post this pic! Just a funny coincidence, but it made me recall my sweet conversation with my DD. Hope you have a blessed day, lovely! 😊

        What a beautiful day for you and your daughter 🙂 .

        The cheesecake is delicious, I haven’t made one in a while and I had forgotten what a process it is! I made candied lemons for the first time as a garnish. I took it with me to a party where there were 5 cakes and mine was the only one that was completely gone so I’ll count that as a success 🙂 .

            It’s not hard – just start with a basic! I can’t really eat cheesecake any longer (lactose), but you shouldn’t miss out.

            If I can do it you can do it Czarina. It’s just a matter of process (and remembering to turn the oven temp down!) . I usually make plain cheese cakes as my chef friend has lectured me on the “goodness of pure food” 🙂 . This one was for a friend who loves cheesecake, raspberries and lemons.

            I just started to cook something and apparently the cake leaked or overflowed a bit and the oven filled smoke. My white dog was certain I was trying to kill us all and is now pacing the house with the whites of her eyes showing. Thankfully the weather is nice enough to open the windows! A bit chilly but that’s ok. I see a trip to the store to buy oven cleaner 🙄.

    There has been hostility to the Catholic Church in France for centuries, but this kind of thing did not happen. Could it have anything to do with the introduction into France of a large population of people who believe that Christianity is a false religion and that they are commanded to fight unbelievers so that Allah may punish them by the hands of the believers (cf. Qur’an 9:14-15)? Possibly not. But possibly.

    Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

    For the most part most of the racing folks are good people, but this event really left me disgusted. My daughter, I and the kids watched from the spectator side this time due to the pits being crammed full and trying to keep up with a 4 and 2 year old where they have nowhere to play and cars everywhere is not an easy thing to do.

    I have no problem with people who want to drink, but I do have a problem when people get drunk and stupid and ruin it for those of us who are there for the entertainment and support our racer. I would say those who weren’t drunk and stupid were only about 10% of us.
    Then if that’s not bad enough, after the races as we were staying in a travel trailer on the grounds, the smell of pot was overwhelming, so bad all over that you would think a pot field was on fire from all the smoke.

    Needless to say this wasn’t my most enjoyable racing event and I was sure glad to get back home.

        I’m hoping this isn’t going to become the new norm and most of the time we’re on the pit side, but this was a big money race which meant a lot drivers, making the pits too busy and full for little ones.
        Most tracks don’t allow drinking in the pits and the circuit he’s running with will suspend drivers caught drinking or doing drugs.

        I’ll probably have to miss his next few races as they’re much farther away and I don’t think we can manage those.

        On the bright side, although his car got tore up, it’s not tore up where it can’t be fixed. Some of those guys went home with trashed cars.

            I’m glad it’s not my money fixing it. lol

            He has a few sponsors, but 90% of the cost the kids come up with.
            My sister and I have arguments about it all the time. She thinks it’s stupid they spend so much money on racing. I tell her it’s their money, he has a good job, the kids always have what they need and never go without and they both love it and have fun doing it. Life is short and you can’t take money with you, so you should do what makes you happy and that it’s no more her business than it is mine how they spend their money. They never ask anyone for help.

                I’ve never been one to tell anyone what they can do with their money or what they should do with their life.

                There are many of things my sister’s kids have done over the years that I thought was stupid, but I never told them or her what I thought. Even when she complained to me they thought she was a bank. The worse I ever did was to tell her as long as you keep bailing them out of their mistakes, they will never learn from their mistakes.

                  I get irritated with how our kids spend their money at times, but I don’t say anything. They are all adults and if they mess up, they have to fix it. I sure made plenty of mistakes and had to sacrifice to correct them. It’s very educational. 😉

                    When I was young and stupid, I must say we made many bigger mistakes when it came to money than they have, I would have been very ticked if my parents told me how to spend money we earned.
