Oh Joshua! I am pleased to hear that there is some movement in a positive direction!

I have mentioned my cousin here and Almost a year and a half ago the multiple docs gave him six weeks to six months but he is still here. Skinny as a rail but living his life to the fullest that he is able and enjoying the moments that are good more than aching over the moments that are not.

I salute you and him and everyone who stares down cancer and fights with all of their might for another sunrise, another smile, another puppy kiss.

        ❤️🙏🏼

Joshua! Hope you are reading, and feeling better today. Did you see this?

‘Burns’, a long-haired dachshund won the Hounds Group at the 2019 Westminster dog show on Monday. “Dachshunds are the best breed in the world,” his handler Carlos Puig told fans.

Yeah, once again the superior Teutonic German Shepherd was ignored by the untermenschen judges for some terrier on a bad hair day.

GSDs try to ‘win’ 24/7, that’s what makes them special. No matter how much they like you they have to see juuuuust how far they can move the boundaries.

I’m over the cliff, hanging by a ledge. If I let her she’ll knock me off. It is my goal to buy a kennel full of annoying dogs (maybe little yappies) and leave them to my son just as I die. I’ll make sure the little grandson falls in love with everyone of them first, just as insurance.

Yeah, our volunteer Border Collie mix set Zauber straight on Day One. I put her in one room and let Z have the run of the house, separated by a baby gate. About one minute into the meeting Daisy knocked the gate down, walked right over to Z and pulled a mouthful of his mane out, showing him right there who owned what. She ran the show from then on.

Years ago, I brought home a full blooded rotty. He was about 9 or 10 weeks old at the time. I already had two small, about 10 lb mixed poodle/something else, dogs. They were about his same size. One of them was the alpha dog and ran everything. She kept him in line. I figured when he was full grown, things would change……..but, they never did. She was about the size of his head, but once I had put something on the table that she decided was hers and so was guarding. He just happened to walk by and she leaped into the air and tried to bite his neck. He looked shocked, moved away, and never walked by that table again. LOL He had no idea why she attacked him.

They do establish their pecking orders and size or age is not an issue.

We have two dogs. One is a black lab, Riley, that my husband gave me almost 13 years ago for our 30th anniversary. The other one, Yona, the German Shepherd, came to stay “temporarily” after one of my sons got divorced some years ago.

So we have, as my husband refers to them, Anniversary Dog and Divorce Dog. Quite the pair.

We have three, all volunteers who’ve shown up after being abandoned by previous owners. No really special dates or events, just special dogs.

We’ve had several dogs who showed up here or there. One had seizures like your dog. Another one I fed for weeks before he’d let me approach him, he was terrified of people. I finally got him to sleep inside with the other dogs one time on a cold and bitter night. He disappeared shortly after that.

The last one was an enormous Chocolate Lab. He had a pea sized brain, loved to annoy our female Golden (alpha extraordinaire, she could have made a wolf back down) by slapping her on the butt. He would grin, and I mean the danged dog could really grin, and she would have him on his back and be at his throat even though we was not quite double her weight, and way bigger. It was a real treat to watch.

They are together now, playing that game and I sure hope I get to see it again one day.

Daisy’s over 212 now, gray and fluffy. The young beagle/terrorist mix, Chez, has started to play with her and she loves it. When Chez was outside with Lucky it was a huge dog ball of roiling teeth, snarling, gnashing and eyeballs. You’d think they were tearing each other to shreds, but it was all great fun and no damage done.
Most fun was watching them chase each other around the house at 100 miles an hour, like the tiger in Sambo. Can we still use that analogy?
