Thanks, lovely! Had six inches of snow on my walk this morning and I cleaned it all to the carports–well, most as I didn’t want to scrape the cement to get the stuck/frozen footprints. The walk is now powderless. Yippee!

In 1981 my mom & I drove it from San Diego up as far as we could (there are breaks due to ownership of the land, I think Port Hueneme is one). It was spectacular, and the places to stop, eat, stay were marvelous.

We did that drive one January back in 1962, from Los Angeles to Santa Rosa, with an overnight stay in Carmel. Beautiful.

Something lost in the dusty corridors of my mind: during the 90s dustup between the Serbs and Croats the Italians found it necessary to issue some warnings to the parties to stay the ^&*%$# away from Trieste. Seems the Italians were worried by some threats to take the salient back from Italy. As NATO was already involved in kicking butt in the former Yugoslavia and an attack by the Italian Army would possibly mean a NATO all-in, Trieste stayed untouched.

I know this is something you’d find interesting or frustrating Stella. A group ran by a lady that I have tons of respect for because she’s been leading the charge for a good while for home school and against common core, some say she is the sole reason it was not shoved down Oklahoman’s throat. Saying that I was really disappointed to see her pushing against vaccines by using the distrust in government and claiming doctors are in the pockets of vaccine manufacturers and to follow the money.
So many comments on the post from conservatives providing false information on vaccines, how they’re made, how many people have died from them, how the diseases won’t kill you, SCOTUS ruled them unavoidably unsafe while being ignorant of the SCOTUS case, the law or even what unavoidably unsafe in legal terms mean and playing on the pro-life individuals that they’re being made from aborted babies. I found this publication to show them the truth about the last one, yes long ago two aborted babies were used, but they weren’t killed to create the vaccine and they don’t use any other aborted babies. It is also totally unfair to say somehow those who receive or give their children the MMR vaccine somehow supports the evil that is abortion.
I found all the misinformation frustrating but found the publication to be very informative.

Thanks Michellc. I got into it on FB today. Same false crap over and over again, and it is really disappointing to encounter so many dummies. Had a guy on today’s FB discussion who is supposedly an expert in the field and works for DHS. Some woman was saying that people were showing up at the border with smallpox, which is DEFINITELY not true! At least that one was pro-vaccine, but even she was hostile.

You can’t get through to people like that, regardless of what you show them, because it’s all government or drug companies conspiracies.
It must be the day for it or something, my daughter said she got into it with someone today as well. This one was showing way back when they were developing the polio vaccine that they used cancer cells from a monkey.
She told her what she posted was not true and it was wrong to post it and say the government is putting cancer cells in the polio vaccine because some lazy person will not read it and then not vaccinate their child for polio out of fear.
She said she edited her post and said she was just trying to prove the government could put anything in a vaccine and they wouldn’t know. She told her yes they could and she doesn’t trust the government, but this isn’t the government making the vaccines.

I think I just read the most ridiculous one yet, a woman supporting abortion and anti-vaccination is blaming vaccinations on abortion. Get this because she and many others were injured by vaccinations making childbirth deadly to them. So stop vaccinating girls and work to make this a better world where women can choose how and by whom they become impregnated.

Well, it’s uber disappointing, but I was watching Dinesh D’Souza live at his Dartmouth speech and all of a sudden it went kaflooey. Don’t know the cause but there was an incident earlier where two feminazis held up some make-shift sign on cloth (easy to hide in their clothing) accusing Dinesh of hate speech–wonder if this was the signal to their fascist cohorts to pull the plug.
It just came back on, but you can hear the mob outside. Lefties make me puke.

Now Dinesh was on his last question from the audience and it went off again. The crowd outside is in the frothing at the mouth stage and being led, obviously, by the real racists, bigots and scum.

Stella, recently others have mentioned that they have to write in their email address and name each time they want to make a comment or some other similar type problem. That had not happened to me before today; but each comment made needs the same sign-in procedure now. That’s pretty annoying and off-putting.
Is this something occurring Word Press-wide (it happens at CTH, too, for me starting today) or is Word-Press doing it on purpose as a part of a crackdown on conservative sites?
Any way to find out why the change in procedure?

Here and CTH are the only two websites/blogs where I comment anymore. Other sites are just way too contentious.
I’ll just have to get used to putting in my info every single time, as irritating as that is. The particular email address I use for both sites is one I use for nothing else. So a number of times today I had to stop and think before putting the address is. LOL!

I find that if I don’t see my avitar in the upper right hand corner, of my page, I must go down to Meta on the right, and Log-In before I post anything. If I close wordpress or clear my history I will have logged out and have to do the Meta Log-In process again. Once I have logged in under Meta I don’t have to do the repeats for every “like” or post.

Maybe, but that was almost 40 years ago. It was Sharyl Atkisson who said that she checked news reports to see if she could trace its recent history, and it dead ended with Obama. That was in the speech she gave about Fake News at Hillsdale College (it’s on YouTube).

Ok. That sounds reasonable. I know Newt railed against the MSM and their inane hatred of Reagan. Newt told the fine little ditty about Reagan and the MSM relationship.
It went (something) like this;
Reporter “Mr. President what color is the sky.”
President Reagan “The sky is blue.”
The next day is grey and overcast.
All of the talking heads and MSM headlines are “President Reagan lies about the sky.”
