Then again, maybe we should be happy that there’s a wall protecting us from Pelosi at least some of the time.

Take a trip to major Latin American cities and you see homes of those who can afford them have walls, and heavy fortified gates and frequently armed guards. If they need them to protect themselves from their own people why aren’t we allowed to protect ourselves from them?

Clarice nails it, yet again, and as always.

As Mickey Kaus tweeted, he sensed there must have been a consultant behind Romney’s spectacular failing strategy — you know, the kind of geniuses who sandbagged their candidate’s running mate Sarah Palin, the sort who talked Al Gore into wearing brown and stuffing a sock in his pants, who persuaded John Kerry to speak in phony backwoods talk to “get me a hunting license”, and who this week encouraged Elizabeth Warren to enact a folksy News Year’s Eve in her kitchen drinking beer out of a bottle.

Overpaid campaign consultants like the ones behind these stunts regularly reveal their contempt for our intelligence and we repay them by defeating their employers.

I would vote for Clarice Feldman to be in the presidential cabinet, if not his speechwriter. I would rather she be in his cabinet, though.

  5. I just played an outdoor piano a couple blocks away for about 45 minutes, and walked away crying.

A couple of people stopped and watched me play.

I’m so sad all the time. I’m just glad I have an outdoor piano I can play every now and then.

I just wish I could get rid of the sadness, somehow. It’s so hard.

I am sorry that you are sad, Wooly. I fight depression some of the time too.

Do something that you love. Accomplish something small and fast that makes you feel good when you’re done – clean your bathroom, do dishes etc (?)

When you set yourself up for success about little things, it makes it easier to tackle the big things.

Make lists of things that you want to do – both big and small. Include the impossible. I found out by accident that by aiming at something big, you eventually see that it can be done, and then you can figure out how to get there.

And remember that your neighbors appreciate your kindness & industry when you clear the snow on the block, and your coworkers appreciate your hard work. We love your music posts.

Wooly, so sorry to hear that you are in the depths of sadness. I pray for you daily as do so many people, I don’t have answers Wooly only prayers and hopes and the guaranty that if you keep moving eventually the light will penetrate the sadness.

Fight Wooly, feel the love and energy that we have for you and know that you deserve to regardless of what the shadows tell you.
