What is going on with punishment of free speech by corporations when the speech doesn’t please them is frightening. As they point out, this has been extended to companies such as MasterCard and Visa potentially monitoring what you spend your money on and controlling your finances (loaning you money) based upon your spending. Perhaps they don’t approve of firearm purchases. We know that credit card companies have refused to accept business from firearms businesses. Then there is the lying by “journalists” about people and organizations that they don’t approve of.
Here is what Dave Rubin and Jordan Peterson are saying about it today.

I’m about 4 minutes into this and I don’t know what happened that caused them to make the move. Will they explain that? If not would you mind explaining it Stella? Then I’ll finish the video. Thanks.

I’m glad you explained below where these two are now, youtube. I’ve been trying to figure that out. It was very interesting listening to them although I don’t know either. I guess credit card companies are now politicized. I kept thinking as I was watching that there has to be a law that would prohibit them from doing this kind of thing. I guess not. Very troubling given how many of our devices give who knows who info. Even acceptance of terms that we just say okay to, without reading sometimes, pretty much guarantees they are at the very least sharing your info. This would be a simple freedom of speech issue if they didn’t have to use a platform, for lack of better understanding of what you call that.
I understand that the hosting site has the right to decide your fate with them. I don’t understand how the cc companies have any say whatsoever. That is scary in all kinds of ways, not just for owner of whatever site, but for consumers.

I read what was written at the top. But, to be honest, I have no idea what Patreon really is and don’t understand what they were even talking about.
Some things take more time and effort to get into my brain. 🙄

Patreon is a platform where small businesses can register and supporters can contribute to their businesses. Crowd funding, and popular on YouTube. Apparently they are becoming known for heavy censorship of content.

Scary video if Peterson and Rubin are correct. They seem to be saying that MasterCard/VISA/PayPal can cancel your card and access to credit if they don’t agree with your views. In the past credit cards were only cancelled for financial reasons now it seems they can cancel for any reason they want. They monopolize the entire credit card payment industry so this is not a good direction our society is heading into. Do payment card processors run the country now.

The credit card companies and PayPal have already withdrawn support from groups so that they can’t get donations via those channels.
Amazon has penalized Legal Insurrection by throwing them out of the Associates Program saying that they violated the terms of service but refusing to tell them how, or to talk to them at all.
