And the beat goes on. And on. And on.

I’ll get my pretty and your children too!

Just a little Christmas cheer, if the wheels of Justice were grinding in the way that most folks seem to believe that they are grinding which is against Team Trump and in favor of Team Clinton, why did Hillary look like this at the Bush funeral?

Jus a thought that popped into my head. President Trump has been calling this a witch hunt almost from day one. Could that be a play on words? Remember when Bill ran for president, one of the first things that Hillary had to do was take down the sign on her door that said “I’ll get you my pretty and your little dog too! . Yes the Wicked Witch of the West is Der Hilmeister’s hero.

Under all the layers the real witch hunters are working.

More bacon and eggs, and, cocoa instead of tea this morning. It is POURING rain outside and inside, too. When I came down this morning, I heard dripping and it was rain coming inside my sliding glass doors. There is no overhang and no flashing at the top of the door. I got a tornado warning text message on my phone. I didn’t get up until 8:00 so it is a good thing nothing actually happened. 🙄 Mornin’ Nyet, everyone. 🙂

Oh My! Prayers for your safety and fixing that leak! That is not a small thing because it can cause mold to grow. I pray you are able to get it fixed quickly and properly! One major cause of my health problems has been mold exposures in houses and rental units.

There is no fixing the leak. It is because there are no flashing above the door. When it rained like this before, I put all my towels down to catch the water. I had to wash every towel I owned and dry them and use the again. I decided this time I am not going to that effort. I will call the office when the mold starts to grow and have them come out and replace the carpet. It is just along the edge of the sliding glass doors and in an open area. Very easy to watch for mold or rotting carpet.

Isn’t that whole situation a health hazard protected by city regulations? The landlord should be obligated to fix it. Poor workmanship is the scourge of our time.

It’s an easy fix by simply taking out the doors and replacing worn out flashing or install some if missing. IF your landlords don’t do it (their choice, but your inconvenience) and there is wood anywhere around that door (very likely), the wood will rot and it will be a major repair instead of a simple one.

True. There are other things that would help, like keeping the rain gutters clean. They do that about once a year and then it rains like this and runs over the sides of the gutters and down the walls. I can get something done………..when it gets bad enough. 🙄 By the way, we have gotten almost 6 inches of rain since the middle of the night.

Ahhh. Well, now a big bubble has developed on the ceiling. I heard the dripping on the run on top of the carpet and had to chase down where it was coming from. The ceiling. It is growing pretty fast. I called for them to send someone over.

True but you pay them to maintain their property and your ceiling should not be leaking. they are contractually obligated to a) never let it happen b) take care of it immediately when made aware of it even if they have to hire 100 outside contractors to fix every single person’s problem. It is a hazard.

If my air cond. goes out, someone is usually here within 15 min. If they can’t fix it in an hour or two, they remove it and install another one that is working. This has stopped dripping and probably won’t be any more trouble tonight…………unless it rains as hard as it did earlier 😯 . We got almost 6 inches in about 8 hours.

    Morning Everyone!

Today’s painting is from pintrest, so I have no info on it, but I wanted to find some paintings with Saint Joseph in the Nativity.

This is one of my favorite Nativity paintings. It is by Jesse Wilcox Smith

The 1st cake I chose today I liked because the cake was upright, either 1/2 an egg form cake or a round cake cut in 1/2 and put upright. This gives a background to the Nativity figures who can just be put on the platter in front. If that is done, the cake is super simple with just the background frosting (this is fondant), and it gives a nice and different effect.

This next cake I chose because whoever made it did a great job with the faces. They remind me of the Precious Moments figures. The “wood” part of the Nativity we were taught to make from graham crackers, “glued” with royal icing, and frosted. If you had non-toxic figures, the only frosting tip used was the very small, plain round tip, The texture on the green was probably done by tapping fingers (gloved with the loose clear food service gloves) on the frosting.

Most of my family are dead or live far away, so I keep varied small (about 4×4 inch) Nativities around my house year round. I figure Jesus came for us, out of love for us, so He and they are my missing family 😉 My grandmother (widowed early) taught me God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were real, not far away, and to treat them like that. It really made a difference in her life, and it makes a difference in my life.

Jesus went from the joy, perfection and power of Heaven to being born as a helpless baby on a cold night into an animal feeder in what was most likely a cave-like stable. I believe He knew before He came everything that would happen to Him, and He came anyway out of Love for us. “For God so Loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life”. John 3:16 I purposely capitalized Love because it is Big Love, the Biggest Love, not the lust or narcissistic “love” seen so often among people in a decaying society that rejects true Christianity. If I try to imagine the world if Jesus had not come, it looks he!!ish. Maybe even just seeing, recognizing and being reminded of God’s great Love for us is a first step towards rebuilding a truly great civilization.

Have to go now – have so much work to catch up on.
Lovely pictures today 🙂 (and every day)
    Have a great day everyone!

    Who Will?

    http://www.spirituality.org/is/173/03.asp

In early December of 1965, network executives at CBS were wringing their hands over the decision to retain the telling of the birth of Jesus at the conclusion of A Charlie Brown Christmas. The program that had its premier nationally on CBS on December 9, 1965 was the creation of Charles M. Schulz. His Christmas program included all of the main characters in his famous comic strip Peanuts. The theme was the search for the true meaning of Christmas. Charlie Brown, disgusted by the commercialism surrounding the holiday, determined to discover the authentic meaning of Christmas. Finally, frustrated by his pursuit, he cried out for someone to answer his question. Linus then relates to Charlie and to the television audience the Nativity from the Gospel of Luke. The executives feared that viewers would not stay tuned through the recitation by Linus of the birth of Christ. Charles Schulz rebelled against any attempt to remove the telling of the story of the birth of Jesus. Schulz declared, “If we don’t tell the true meaning of Christmas, who will?”

Explicit in this question is the very “Mission Statement” of the apostles. It was they who had to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to the societies of the ancient world. It is we who must continue that proclamation to ours. Ironically, some people are reticent to share their beliefs, but there are many who are almost desperate to do so. The English writer William Hazlitt illustrates the point in this remembrance from a gathering of friends, “‘There is only one person I can think of after this,’ continued H____, but without mentioning a name that once put on a semblance of mortality: ‘If Shakespeare was to come into the room, we should all rise up to meet him; but if that person was to come into it, we should all fall down and try to kiss the hem of his garment.’ As a lady present seemed now to get uneasy at the turn the conversation had taken, we rose up to go.” Great is the number of souls who desire to receive the happiness, comfort, hope, assurance, and all the other gifts contained in the true meaning and purpose of Christmas. Among the various celebratory seasons of the year, Christmas provides the most agreeable atmosphere for public rejoicing. From family gatherings to nondescript office parties, opportunities exist to introduce thoughtful comments about the birth of Christ. Few are the people who can comfortably and effectively stump for Christ, but we all are able to present ourselves as individuals who spiritually are aware of the momentous event being celebrated. Employing the very motion of our lives, we should seek to witness to the significance of Christmas in a faithful, natural, joyful, and, shall we say, merry way. If we don’t do this, who will?

In quiet and truthful times, good people in conversation often lament over the moral decay emblematic of our culture. The times are topsy-turvy. One may be chary of wishing another a “Merry Christmas,” but unashamedly may spew all forms of obscenity. The mass of misguided impulses that has formed recent societal trends continue to create chaos in the process of discerning right from wrong. Consequently, life becomes cheap. Those qualities of character that cement personal relationships and open individuals to true love are lacking. Not that these qualities no longer exist or have no force, but that they are occluded by misaligned notions of self-respect and self-worth. Contrastingly, the birth of Christ relates that from the very beginning the scene was set depicting the nature of the relationship between God and his people. The Word incarnate called all people, the rich and the poor, the powerful and the weak, kings and shepherds to his side, to his saving grace. This inclusiveness marked the call as truly divine. Therefore, the only authentic and unassailable source of human dignity and worth comes through the consonance of the human and the divine will. Reflecting on God’s love for us, we can internalize the power of that love in coping with our own frailties and honing our life-enhancing skills. Thus, we may give to our world the Christmas present of our best selves. Human dignity and rights, not based on human whim, but on God’s love finds its proper foundation. If we do not do this, who will?

This “Christmas card” to you bears a rather serious tone. Perhaps, the urgency of telling the true meaning of Christmas by living it is so apparent that I feel that it ought to be underscored this year. Oh! If you were wondering how everything came out regarding that hard stand taken by Charles Schutz in keeping the Nativity in A Charlie Brown Christmas, you need not fret. Fifty percent of the television sets in the United States were tuned in to the program. A Charlie Brown Christmas garnered an Emmy and the Peabody Award. Since then, the show has become a Christmas classic. Thank you, Charles Schulz for your faith, your fortitude, and your genius. Should you be looking down on us this Christmas and are concerned, don’t worry. Who will? We will!
