After his meeting with Macron, President Trump and the First Lady were scheduled to visit the battlefield of Belleau Wood, 55 miles northeast of Paris; however the White House canceled President Trump’s trip and Chief of Staff General John Kelly and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joe Dunford went to the cemetery instead.
If you believe media reports, the White said that weather was bad and precluded the trip by Marine One, but the European press poo-poos this reason. I wonder?
President Trump will join other world leaders for dinner at the Musee d’Orsay art museum on Saturday night. Our President is then set to visit another American cemetery that holds war dead, at Suresnes, in the Paris suburbs, on Sunday morning. World leaders will meet at 11 am local time on Sunday at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Arc de Triomphe, in Paris, to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

Perhaps the cancellation is Secret Service related…a threat too large to ignore.
I don’t think anything Macron has said in the last 48 hours would have put off President Trump. Macron is simply another challenge and the President recognizes that Macron is just a little puff-bird trying to seem more important than he is in reality.

Hi again,
I’m reminiscing as i stroll through the Home Depot, like a champ. Needed something to boost my daughter’s booster seat (she is barely 2 – and they don’t make phone books any more) so I pounced on 16″ diameter precut 1″ ceder plates. They will work so well with just the tool-chest grid foam to protect the chair and prevent slippage between each.
Actually I’m just skirting around my purpose; I’m ‘ok’ at home improvement. I have worked with much much more and have nothing to prove but I’m not the best husband and she could do better and I’m so thankful.
So I’m walking down the aisle and I hear a song but it makes me think of another song from years ago. It’s a girlish song but I was never one to deny what I thought was good or catchy; maybe I’m big enough or something.
I used to have this on the playlist when I would work very long hours in the lab but just now, hearing it again, this song makes me think of my daughter. My daughter and me.
Months ago I might have skimped the text above to just the last sentence and posted it on the open thread at CTH but (and I have maybe only sent 1 or 2 things without substance for others ever) this is just about me and my daughter and I wanted to share it. And I don’t want to bother them with me
I hope you don’t mind. This somewhat poignant for me at this time as things are getting loud as she grows and it …. takes more… if u know what I mean.
Thanks for letting me post ‘into the void’ if u will. Yeah it belongs on caturday but… well… u get what I’m sayin I hope. Me and work and “doing things” it has mostly been about getting things done and I have put people second a lot in my past…. but I digress.
