Is DMSO safe for dogs – if it’s even still available? DH used to use it on himself…
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes, it’s still available and it’s long been used on horses and dogs for inflammation and you can find it on Amazon (I feel safer there than on eBay). Problem is that you have to make sure that the dog’s skin/hair where and when you apply it is clean-clean as it will carry any chemical on the skin/hair right into the dog’s body – remember the al Qaeda handbook?

I was thinking of buying a product on Ebay is there a problem buying from them?
LikeLike
I just don’t trust the efficacy of something on eBay I’m going to be use on my pets. eBay’s had a few instances of sketchy products and they do have a dispute resolution service but it’s long and by then the damage has been done. Amazon has DMSO and I feel a bit more comfortable with them.

Hope the doggie feels better.
Decades ago after periodonital surgery the surgeon would give me a Lodine (I think it was) becuase I would swell up so much and it controlled the swelling. When I asked for just 1 or 2 tablets of it again after about 10 years they said it was now mostly only used for dogs for with arthritis, but I got the 2 tabs. I guess it affects the liver if you take too much at once. If nothing else works, maybe a very small amount would help. Good luck.

From what I’m told the reason it’s largely out of favor in people use is that there can be some side effects that are not there in other NSAIDS. I also have triple-buffered aspirin but that has its problems too. I’ll see how the CBD works and if it doesn’t we’ll try something else.

Kiddo’s artist this month is Marc Chagall.
“Marc Zakharovich Chagall (/ʃəˈɡɑːl/ shə-GAHL;[3][nb 1]born Moishe Zakharovich Shagal;[4] 6 July [O.S. 24 June] 1887 – 28 March 1985) was a Russian-French artist of Belarusian Jewish origin.[1] An early modernist, he was associated with several major artistic styles and created works in virtually every artistic format, including painting, book illustrations, stained glass, stage sets, ceramic, tapestries and fine art prints”
“He had two basic reputations, writes Lewis: as a pioneer of modernism and as a major Jewish artist. He experienced modernism’s “golden age” in Paris, where “he synthesized the art forms of Cubism, Symbolism, and Fauvism, and the influence of Fauvism gave rise to Surrealism”. Yet throughout these phases of his style “he remained most emphatically a Jewish artist, whose work was one long dreamy reverie of life in his native village of Vitebsk.”[5] “When Matisse dies,” Pablo Picassoremarked in the 1950s, “Chagall will be the only painter left who understands what colour really is.”
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_Chagall
He loves the bright colors and the concept of painting what he dreams. Marc Chagall would frequently paint goats, but it turns out there was a reason:
“In general, Chagall’s inclusion of farm animals into his paintings allude to his memories of childhood. In particular, visits to an uncle on a farm where he knew every animal by name. Many of Chagall’s paintings include farmyard references such as to his childhood in Vitebsk, alongside images of Paris.
The goat is a Jewish symbol for the day of atonement – a feast when the sins of the people were once symbolically expiated ( Leviticus X!V) by tying a red ribbon (rep. the sins)around the neck of a goat and casting him out into the wilderness to die. (After the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem, a rooster or hen was used for this purpose instead). See painting on this subject by William Holman Hunt.
It is most probable, that Chagall used this image with both these ideas in mind.”

Circus horse 1964
“Mark Chagall loved the circus and said that its artists helped him ‘move toward new horizons’. It became one of his favorite subjects during his early years in Paris and remained so throughout his career. This painting, in which Chagall has used vibrant colors and dazzling tones to capture the festive mood of the circus, is his most famous painting on the subject. Circus Horse was created in the late stage of his career, when Chagall was in his seventies. It is considered one of his finest and most vigorous late works.”

I drew and doodled all the time as a child. It is very therapeutic. Of course I didn’t know that then I just knew it made me happy, peaceful, everything else disappeared.
As I child I could not stand coloring books. It don’t think I ever finished a single page in book. I didn’t even like the way the paper felt. I remember always thinking, “There is no way to make that look good” I was an odd duck child 🙂 .

Afternoon OGC…
I haven’t posted any pictures in quite some time OG&C, but since you asked…
I had to get pretty creative to save the ceiling and pull the main room together…so I took a non-conventional route and I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

That ceiling is gorgeous. What did you do to it to restore it?
LikeLiked by 2 people
:0) Thank you aus – I couldn’t restore the original ceiling and it was too expensive to take down the 1950’s ‘beaverfur’ tile on the drop down ceiling, so..
I skim-coated the ‘beaverfur’ ceiling, sanded, skim-coated, sanded, skim-coated, sanded and primed the plaster surface with five coats of matte primer and then….
I wallpapered the ceiling with a wall paper that I found on WalMart’s website (marked down 50%-Score!!!)

Thx OG&C…:0) Yep screwing in new sheetrock, or tin or even plywood was my original intention OGC, but….the drop down ceiling grid was composed of 1×2 furring strips and I would have needed six inch screws to tap into the 2×4’s that sit above the grid. I just wasn’t willing to do that. :0)

I’m listening to President Trump’s presser where he slapped the snot out of Acosta.
Two things I’ve noticed;
1) President Trump said that he knows more about the democrats than they know about him.
2) More importantly, I’m about 35 minutes in and from President Trump’s first words there was something different. And then it hit me. President Trump is tired. He turned off the theatrics and the negotiator and simply let his disdain for the media show. This was Trump raw, it was the Trump that Fred Trump said “Don’t be so blunt. Add some sugar son.”
I like this Trump at least as much as the other Trump.
Trump sugar free. Sweet.

We still have yet to see a single snowflake! Odd to be this late into November without a whiff of white stuff. It’s been cold; we had several days at +5 degrees, and now consistently about 15-20 degrees overnight with daytime highs in mid 30s. Just clear blue skies and bright sun. No snow predicted for the next 10 days. We were rewarded with some Northern Lights on Sunday and Monday nights, a somewhat rare treat. Not the most stunning display, but still pretty awesome. First time in the last 2 years for me (they can be surprisingly easy to miss if you don’t just happen to wake up at 2 am or so and bother to get up, put on a heavy coat and boots, hat, gloves to go outside and look).

Doesn’t someone have an “Amber Alert ” type app to let you know when the lights are good?!?!
LikeLiked by 1 person
I wish I had a “Lights detector” on the roof of my house that set off an alarm at my bedside! But no. People who want to see them often set up their own phone tree with friends to call around when the lights are out. Helps to have a few insomniacs in the group. It also helps if you have a north-facing window looking across a clear field so you know whether it is worth gearing up to be outside for a half hour. Unfortunately I don’t. I have to walk 10 feet from the house to get out from under the eaves to see the night sky to the north. I usually check the aurora forecast website at the Univ. of Alaska Fairbanks before going to bed. On nights with high auroral activity, I’ll drink a big glass of water before going to sleep, guaranteeing I’ll have to get up to pee about 2 am. Then I’ll check the website again to see where the lights are most likely, and if they are in my area I’ll go outside and look. But the website doesn’t account for local cloud cover, so even if they are likely, doesn’t mean I’ll be able to see them.

I’ll be in Boston next Wed-Sun. Taking warm clothes which I rarely get to wear, but predictions here & there are for 30 at night & 50’s during the day while I’m gone.

Hi Czarina, I haven’t received it yet, but Stella is busy. I’ll continue to check.
My cousin who travels a lot likes Tripadvisor for info. I looked up the hotel, and it’s directly on the water. The weather for those days has sunshine 🙂 40-50 degrees in the day and 30-40 at night. The windiest day is Wed. It gets very raw right on the water with the Atlantic Ocean and wind, but I don’t know what you’re used to as far as weather goes, just realize it will be damp outside around the hotel. The sun should help get rid of the dampness though.
I don’t know if you’re renting a car, and that makes a big difference in ease of getting around.
I’m not sure of your interests, but I like to see what a particular city has that others don’t. I would get a guide and walk the Freedom Trail. The guides make it much more alive, and you’re not alone with headphones on. They are dressed in period costume 🙂
I would also see if the USS Constitution is open and go onto it. Both are not far from your hotel.
The Duck tours are popular.
There is also a “Hop on Hop off pass” to get around, just make sure where you are going. Maybe a group of people going to your convention would go together.
If you like art museums, The Museum of Fine Arts is really nice with hundreds of beautiful and famous exhibits.
Going across the river to the Harvard Museums in Cambridge would be nice if you liked the glass invertibrate photos I posted this summer. Harvard is also the only place with the glass FLOWERS. They have many more of the flowers than invertibrates.
There is a bus tour that goes around Boston, Cambridge, Lexington, and Concord. But honestly, unless it was on your lifetime bucket list to see Lexington & Concord, you’ll spend most of the time on the road in the bus.
This is a photo of the public gardens from Tripadvisor from Nov 2016. The Swan Boats are closed, but I don’t know if would be of interest to you. There may also be architecture tours, there used to be, but they were usually in warmer weather.
We had a bad windstorm up here in NH that blew all the maple leaves off which was too bad. It was such a good year for color even the oak leaves are nice colors. Maybe they did not blow off in Boston.
Here is the tripadvisor link for Boston

Let me know if you have any further questions. I’ll check emails, and also back to this page for a couple more days.

This is quite early for snow, and it’s not insignificant, although it will melt quickly. It’s just that I know this is only the beginning of about five months of it, off and on.

What a little coward he is. Like all bullies, he is a coward. As soon as President Trump stepped out from behind the podium (twice) he sat down. He was also very submissive to the secret service man taking his pass – I notice he did not karate chop a trained male!
I think he should be permanently banned. His career will just wither and die without the spotlight.
If the networks choose another to harass the administration rather than ask questions, they should be put in the back of the room, and let civil reporters ask actual meaningful questions that matter to citizens.
Either the mic should have a shut off, or a beefy offical should keep hold of it. Do not give it to a reporter.
And this is what I really do not understand: Why are all the SAME reporters allowed to ask questions??? Why isn’t there a rotating list of a VARIETY of media outlets set up for the month to ask the questions each day? Too bad if Cnn or PBS gets their nose bent out of shape.
End rant 🙂

I believe when Spicer was the press secretary they did a good job of letting conservative news sites, like Gateway Pundit, ask questions. It doesn’t seem to happen anymore and I wish that it did so that POTUS could have some fair reporting. All he seems to get questioned by are the worst sorts that are just trying to trip him up with the same old gotcha questions.

McCarthy introduces bill to fully fund Trump’s border wall
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/mccarthy-introduces-bill-to-fully-fund-trumps-border-wall/ar-BBOiAIT?ocid=sf&fbclid=IwAR2KOzlXAYCEmO40IPFr0pTZEsgIWCS5jzUFEkK_1k5hMd9I-lj7TBfMAZw
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) introduced a bill on Friday to fully fund President Trump’s proposed border wall, a chief campaign promise that Congress has struggled to deliver.
The measure, dubbed the “Build the Wall, Enforce the Law Act,” provides $23.4 billion to construct a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, with $5.5 billion in funding available immediately.
About $16.6 billion would be dedicated to physical barriers, while the rest would cover technology, operations and other infrastructure costs associated with border security.
The money would come out of the annual Department of Homeland Security budget, leaving it up to appropriators to decide where to cut from in order to cover the cost of the bill.
“For decades, America’s inability to secure our borders and stop illegal immigration has encouraged millions to undertake a dangerous journey to come here in violation of our laws and created huge loopholes in the legal channels we use to welcome immigrants to our country,” McCarthy, a top Trump ally who seeks to replace retiring Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) next year, said in a statement.
“President Trump’s election was a wake-up call to Washington. The American People want us to build the wall and enforce the law,” McCarthy said.

Oh, my…I just heard from my dear friend’s executive assistant that my friend’s home in Malibu may have burned to the ground. They don’t know exactly yet because no one is there obviously and there’s no way to check via air, of course. Everyone evacuated safely this a.m. just as the fire hit their property line.
It was such a peaceful, gorgeous place with many acres of vegetation. Such a horrible tragedy! We’re all praying, but I think it’s likely everything is gone. I can’t believe it!

I’ve known him for over 30 years. It’s just unbelievable! If property owners are allowed back into the area on Sunday, I should know what the full extent of the damage is maybe on Monday. I hope it’s not total but it’d be a miracle if it isn’t.

Thanks, czarina! He and all the neighbors have pretty heavy insurance because of the high risk of fires. It’s the loss of all the wonderful lifetime collections of art, antiques, jewelry and special mementos of departed friends. The property is quite large and so very many things were stored there. I can’t even fathom the anxiety he’s feeling tonight.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
