I’m not sorry that I have so little sympathy for Khashoggi as he came to the US, worked for the slimiest liberal newspaper on the East Coast and used his time attacking the Saudi government from thousands of milers away.
I don’t know what it is in the American psyche that gets so upset with the lion when some jerk jumps the wall, kicks it and gets eaten, If Khashoggi were that smart what the hell’s he doing voluntarily getting right square into the cage with the lion he’s been kicking and has been warned NOT to kick? At some point you just have to say “You asked for it so don’t complain you got it!”.
It’s not as if Khashoggi didn’t know that playing dirty baseball with the Saudis would get the bat stuck up home plate, he’s one of them and claims to be an expert on them. He HAD TO KNOW he was safe in the US, regardless of how hasrd he poked the Saudis they wouldn’t bother him in the US so he lets them talk him into going to Turkey and WALKING INTO SAUDI SOVEREIGN TERRITORY!!!!!!! Don’t we have the Russians tap dancing around assassinating a political dissident on British soil and didn’t that make the hair on his neck stand up? The Israelis have a long history of making irritating foreign folks go ‘boom’ on a number of foreign lands – and yet the expert on the Saudi government follows the bread crumbs into an obvious trap?
Sorry, have a hard time feeling sorry.

Maybe someone can talk Jeff into walking into a Saudi embassy in some Mideast country and loudly expressing his pique. Either way it would probably solve someone’s problem.
