President Trump accepted Nikki Haley’s resignation as U.S. ambassador to the U.N., Fox News confirmed Tuesday — marking a sudden and unexpected end to the tenure of one of the administration’s most prominent figures.
Trump is expected to speak at the Oval Office at 10:30 a.m to address the resignation. It was not clear why Haley resigned, or why Trump accepted.
Axios, which first reported the news, reported that Haley discussed her resignation last week when she visited Trump at the White House. The outlet reported that the news shocked a number of senior foreign policy officials in the administration.
The U.S. Mission did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News.
Well, I’m shocked and disappointed, too. I think she has been doing a very good job. 😦

I’ve been thinking for a long time now that she looks very thin in the face and strained. I wonder if she has some medical problems? Maybe just tired.

Nikki cannot keep up with the Trump pace

She has done a phenomenal job, I think. I am sure that has taken a lot of energy. I hope it isn’t something about her health. But, if it were something bad, I wouldn’t think she would stick around for a few more months.
I like what she said about Jared Kushner.

I’m wondering if they aren’t setting Jared up to replace her at the UN. What do you think?

😯 Hadn’t thought of that. I don’t really know what to think of Jared’s position. Wow, wouldn’t that set things on fire. 🙂

A politically aware FB friend wrote this:
Kushner needs an accrediting job besides being the son in law who also rises.
I really hated him… and was SOOOO wrong. He has done a great job wherever he was sent.
And he can take being Kavanaughed by the Senate Dems on confirmation.

I imagine after being part of the mamby pamby uniparty for so long (and I include all republicans in this statement not just Haley) that even when you actually get to do what your idealistic self may have started out wanting to do in the beginning of your political career that winning has its own cost. It is wonderful to win but Haley is on the front line and President Trump is a demanding boss.
Just put on the tube and she does look drained.
She is staying through January so my guess is the strain of fighting is just wearing thin on her. I imagine she and her family get death threats all of the time.

LOL Somebody next door suggested she looked so happy she is probably pregnant. 😀

Well, she’s 46. Probably not likely but on the outside of possible.

Somehow I don’t think that is a possibility since she told Pres. Trump 6 months ago. But, it could happen.

Everyone loves Nikki. Israel really loves Nikki. Everyone says Haley has done a superlative job. Haley was even permitted to argue with and demean Pres Trump publicly (“I don’t make mistakes…)
And yet…why do I not trust her?
Could it be those memories of Haley being a NeverTrumper?
Kushner will not be the replacement. Nepotism, doncha know. Ol’ Turtle will never allow the Senate to be in recess for a recess appointment. Plus, Kushner is more effective on the periphery, as he is now. imo

“And yet…why do I not trust her? Could it be those memories of Haley being a NeverTrumper?” That would certainly be understandable. I didn’t trust her at first. But, I think she is so willing to speak out openly about what she thinks that I am won over to trust her.
