   Schumer is speaking. He’s hard to listen to, but at least he’s back to his judicial and philosophical positions. Rather a nice shift after rape-rape-rape-drunk-beer-temperament etc etc. Blah, blah, blah.

   Murkowski voted against cloture. Can’t wait to see her voted out. Must be her “McCain moment”.

   Other news: Senator Steve Daines of Montana says he will fly to Washington tomorrow (his daughter is being married) to vote if necessary.

   If Susan Collins announces a "no" vote on Brett Kavanaugh later today, and assuming Lisa Murkowski stays "no" Saturday, then Democrat Joe Manchin will have to vote "yes," and Mike Pence will probably have to break the tie — first tiebreaker in Supreme Court confirmation history.
